Summer Work
Summer 2023 -
First: READ the syllabus (left) to get a good idea of what the class is about!
Second:
Choose a book from the list.
On the first day of school, you will get an assignment regarding your book. So take some notes as you go along! You'll be writing a paper, and doing a bit of research.
"Surviving the Extremes" - Kenneth Kamler, M.D. (many copies in CDH LMC. ). Ava says - it's a summary of stories - in lots of different places, and easy to pick up/put down. (7 copies in the LLC)
"Phantoms in the Brain" - V.S. Ramachandran, M.D., Ph.D. (This is so good! Especially if you are taking Psych as well!) (2 copies in the LLC)
"When the Air Hits Your Brain" -Frank Vertosick Jr., M.D. (many copies in CDH LMC.) The hands-down favorite of all students! Bergen says - it's awesome, because it's real stories!! Lolo thought it was funny, and not heavy! (7 copies in the LLC)
"Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers" - Mary Roach (a few copies in CDH LMC) (2 copies in the LLC)
“Corpse: Nature, Forensics, and the Struggle to Pinpoint Time of Death” Jessica Snyder Sachs (A few copies in CDH LMC) (2 copies in the LLC)
I absolutely LOVE teaching this class! This class is an adventure! Buckle up! Enjoy the ride!
