Time: The first training took me about a half hour to complete, and the mountain lion habitat training took about an hour and fifteen minutes.
Insights:
Make a Geoprocessing Model training:
This was a great introduction to the model building tool. I had seen in earlier training suggestions on building models but had never felt confident in trying to make one on my own, but this training broke it down simply and made it accessible. I enjoyed being able to build a tool specifically for the project, and it made me think about how much it will streamline future projects when there are a lot of datasets that need to be processed in the same way.
Mountain Lion Habitat training:
I really appreciated how thoroughly this training walked through the process of building an effective model. It was nice to be walked through it in such a clear and defined way, and helped me to better understand how the information flowed through the software. By organizing the data inputs and tools in the Model Builder, it helped to organize my thinking about how to analyze the data. I can see how model builder will be a valuable tool in the future for mapping out the analysis of projects and also to diagram my own process.
