Regeneron Science Talent Search

Started in 1942, the Regeneron Science Talent Search (Regeneron STS) recognizes and empowers our nation’s most promising young scientists who are developing ideas that could solve society’s most urgent challenges. Each year, nearly 1,900 students submit original research in critically important fields of study, engaging the most promising scientists among the nation’s high school seniors.  This year, five women in our senior class were honored as one of the 300 National Top Scholars, including Rohini Das, Remi Matza, Lindsay Miller, and Samantha Schaevitz. Samantha Milewicz went on to be recognized as 8th place overall in the Nation, an outstanding feat.

Westchester Science & Engineering Fair

The Regeneron Westchester Science & Engineering fair serves high school students who have conducted original research projects in Westchester, Putnam, & Sullivan Counties of New York State and are interested in sharing their research and competing for various awards, which includes the chance to qualify to attend the REGENERON International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF).  We are proud of our 18 Seniors who were recognized for their exceptional work this year.

International Science & Engineering Fair

The Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (Regeneron ISEF) is the world’s largest international pre-college science competition. Each year, ISEF brings over 1,800 high school students from 75 countries to exhibit and demonstrate ingenuity and innovation through science projects of their own design. Three of our extraordinary seniors, Emily Stangel, Chloe Bernstein, and Samantha Milewicz, represented us at what is known as the "Olympics of Science Fairs."

Junior Science & Humanities Symposium

The Junior Science & Humanities Symposium (JSHS) is designed to challenge, engage, and publicly recognize students (Grades 9-12) conducting research in the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM). This year, 12 Seniors were given awards, and Caleb Palapillil, Ethan Cherry, Alaska Fairbanks, Chloe Bernstein, Aliza Hammond, and Max Teitelbaum represented at Upstate JSHS in Albany.  Chloe went on to represent our school at the National Symposium.

Neuroscience Research Prize

Each year, the American Academy of Neurology recognizes outstanding work in neuroscience for high school, university, and medical students. The Neuroscience Research Prize is designed to encourage high school students to explore the world of the brain and nervous system through research and identify and reward those students whose scientific skill and talent indicate the potential for scientific contributions in the field of neuroscience.  Samantha Schaevitz presented her work at the 75th  Annual Conference this year in recognition of her outstanding research.
