Letter from the Editors

Dear Reader,

Thank you for taking the time to look through this issue of The Canvas. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed creating it!

As 2020 comes to close, like many others, we at The Canvas are taking the time to reflect on this year and we are hoping for better days to come in 2021. We would not be able to create this website and this issue without the support of many others. Thank you to all the artists, writers, photographers and poets who entrusted us with their work. Thank you to Mr. Smith for his guidance and support. Thank you immensely to Mrs. Aber whose advice and leadership has guided us during the creation process.

And of course, thank you, reader, who makes our work worthwhile.

This year has been a rollercoaster. Since we last wrote to you, much has changed, yet much has stayed the same. Byram students and staff have been successful in overcoming the challenges in adapting to the hybrid learning model and daily Zoom calls. We are in awe of the resilience of this student body and their ability to create such amazing works of art and literature, in spite of these challenges. We encourage you to continue creating such lovely works as the year turns and share it with the world in whatever way possible. We hope to see your work in our inboxes when it comes time for the Spring Issue of The Canvas!

May you have a relaxing break and we'll be back again in the spring. Happy Holidays!

The Canvas Team,

Edith Bachmann, Tanya Postian, and Ruth Seo
