Bullying

During REACCH class, students in grades 3-5 discuss bullying and peer pressure using the Committee for Children's Bullying Prevention curriculum. With this curriculum, students learn the definition of bullying, the 3 Rs- recognize, refuse, report, as well as the power of the bystander.

  • Bullying is repeated mean and/or hurtful behavior that is intentional, one-sided, and often includes an imbalance of power.

        • Examples of power imbalance might include age, size, number of students, etc.

  • Bystander: A person, or group of people, who see or know bullying is happening.

        • Bystanders should always report bullying to a trusted adult.
