In the starting days of the world, magical folk and nonmagical folk lived in harmony. Witchkind would help mankind and aid their kingdoms. They went by many terms such as witches, wizards, and mages. However, they are now thought to be legends. Despite the harmony in the early days, after some time, nonmagical folk began to fear witches. They made the decisions to burn them at the stakes. This led to witches running from the common world and retreating into areas mankind would rarely visit. Areas in the arctic, underground, sky, and ocean became the new domain for magical kind. They accepted their names as witches and chose to feel proud rather than ashamed of the title.
The witches formed seven major nations: Alora, Azureth, Ravand, Glaciria, Lunaeria, Ebonvale, and Renatus. Each of these nations had their own different governments and witch schools for each of the seven nations (AWA, AMA, RMA, GWA, LWA, EMA, RWA). The majority of these nations operated on floating islands above the water powered by magic.
When a witch enrolls into their school, they're required to purchase a grimoire and summon a demon from it. They will make a pact with this demon and harness its powers with their demon becoming the source of their magic.
However, there will always be conflict. Just a few decades ago, a woman named Leona Willow discovered a secret that the government had been trying to keep down for centuries. This led her to start a revolution which brought her across cursed grimoires. These grimoires gave her access to the seven deadly sins, the rulers of the demon realm. With their power, she aimed to take down the government for good and unveil their lies.
Unfortunately, Leona's plans were cut short. Alora's government had caught wind of her plans, found her main home, and took her. Despite her attempts to break free and despite the power of the seven deadly sins, she and her demons were banished and tossed into the freezing ocean.
Leona Willow was believed to be dead and brutally killed from hypothermia in the cold waters. This silenced her revolution and witches in the magical world grew quiet and obedient to their superiors. Over time, Leona Willow was painted as a villain and terrorist who went mad after harnessing the powers of cursed grimoires. She was painted as someone evil who everyone should strive to be the opposite of.
Witch society continued after this event with few issues. Yet something they didn't know was that the seven cursed grimoires were still floating around. Not only that, two fated children... one from the magical world and one from the nonmagical world were bound to bring the two worlds together and reveal the corruption of witchkind's government. For good.
Alright! So now that you got the background lore, what's currently going on in the actual plotline is that the two fated kids are in witch school in the Atlantic. One of these kids was raised in witchkind and the other was raised with mankind.
The thing about witchkind is that they think that nonmagical folks are simply legends, the same way that mankind believes that magical folks are simply legends.
So, the child raised in mankind was told by their mom that they would be going to a magic school. So the kid started learning card tricks and whatnot thinking it would be for magicians. Due to witchkind not actually believing in nonmagical folks, they thought this was pretty cool magic making a comedic aspect to the story.
The child raised in witchkind on the other hand, just so happened to be broke. And so, she decided to thrift her grimoire for her rite of passage. What she didn't know was that this thrifted grimoire was actually a cursed grimoire.
When she made her pact, she found that the demon she got was actually the sin of sloth. Except she didn't actually find out about that. Because the demon was too busy sleeping and doing absolutely anything but her job which was interacting with her witch. Figures.
These two will be the fated witches who inherited Leona Willow's legacy. May their path be full of thorns and flames.
I mean, roses and love and happiness! Totally... Cheering y'all on. Yup.
You get to go to the same school as these two weirdos! It's your choice whether to be a witch or a demon. You're going to share a dorm with your witch/demon. You can design both your witch and demon or ask a friend to be your partner in crime of which you make a pact with. There are lots of fun events planned throughout their school year as well as twists in the politics of the world as well as potential rebellions. However, the future is still foggy. Because all we have so far is background info.
Everyone has full control over their own characters outside of just going to the school. All I can do while managing this thing is tossing events at you all. However, the reactions of the people and characters within the story is what will truly drive it forward.
So, feel free to join! Most characters are blank. There's also the student council where each of the most powerful from the seven deadly sins reside. They have their own house within the dormitories. The current student council has already been decided (as random ass characters) however, you are free to kick them from their thrones throughout the school year along with your demon/witch of choice.
A witch's power is linked to their demon. They get various ranks and jobs based on the demon they get as well as said demon's abilities.
The seven nations of the magical world each have their own governments that are related and in an alliance with each other. However, an alliance doesn't always mean simple peace.
Demons live forever. Not actually, they're just already dead. The seven deadly sins are the rulers of the realm. However, Leona Willow's seven deadly sins are different from the ones currently in charge.
Underneath the seven deadly sins, there are different systems for each of the sins' kingdoms chosen by the sin in charge.
