Hello! I look forward to learning a bit about each of my students during the year. Here, in turn, is a little about me.
I'm from . . . all over. I moved around growing up, then was in the Air Force for 20 years. After doing engineering and program management in the Air Force, I retired in 2018 and (after a couple of years off) became a math teacher. I recently moved to Colorado from Utah.
I enjoy the outdoors -- mostly non-motorized activities (biking, hiking, skiing, running, climbing, sailing). I'm married and have a 14-year old son. And I think math is really interesting (so many beautiful patterns and crazy connections) . . . and useful!
I don't believe that anyone is inherently bad at math (so don't say "I can't do math" in my class, please). We all have different experiences and learn things at different times and in different ways, so sometimes it feels that way, but lean in and believe in yourself! And if you already do believe you can do math, then keep on it!
That's me and my son. It's from a few years ago in Montana.
