Math - In math this week we will be continuing math routines, and exploring counting through ten, and relating numbers and objects. We are also working on addition and subtraction within 5 and seeing 5 groups in numbers 6-10
Fundations - This week in Fundations we will be introducing the curriculum and practicing the alphabet chant, recognizing writing lines, and introducing the letters d and s. Click on the literacy tab for more Fundations resources.
Social Communication - Lesson 8 is all about identifying the feeling of anger in ourselves and others.
Reading/Vocab - We will be introducing unit 2 this week. The unit 2 theme is There's Only One Me, and our driving question is: What makes each of us special? Our read alouds are Snail and Worm Again and Pete the Cat: Too Cool for School and through these we will focus on story details, characters and setting, and book orientation.
Our vocabulary words this week are: reflection, shell, stripe.
Writing - This week we will be continuing working on our writing process! Students will be thinking about what they can write about, and we will be introducing opinion writing. Our writing process steps are: plan, organize, draft, revise and edit, publish.
Rotations/Small Groups - Rotations will reinforce kindergarten literacy concepts such as words, letters, and rhyming. We will continue rotations this week!
Science - This week we will continue our science unit on weather!
