Dear Family Partners,

It is with so much excitement that we welcome you and your child to fourth grade at Ryan!  We are honored to be able to partner with you to ensure your child has a successful, fun and memorable fourth grade year! 

We are so looking forward to the year ahead and all that your children will discover, learn, and accomplish. At the heart of our classroom is the belief that every child deserves to feel seen, valued, included, and known. We're committed to creating a space where your child feels safe to be who they are, share what they think, take chances, and grow through the mistakes they make along the way.

I love 4th graders because they are curious, thoughtful, increasingly independent, and yet still full of big, imaginative and creative ideas!  This year, students will be challenged to think deeply, explore their interests, solve meaningful problems, and make connections between their learning and the world around them. They will have opportunities to develop confidence as learners while also learning how to listen to others, collaborate, communicate, navigate challenges, advocate for themselves, and contribute positively to their community.

We believe learning should feel meaningful and fun, and our hope is that your child walks through the door each day eager to discover something new and stretch themselves just a little further.  Above all, we hope they leave knowing that they are an important part of our community and that their ideas, experiences, and unique perspectives matter.

As we embark on our year together, please know that we deeply value family partnership. You know your child in ways that we never could from the classroom alone, and your insights, questions, celebrations, and concerns are important to us.
