Ryan grew up in central Illinois and graduated from North Central College in 2015 where he was a part of three national championship cross country teams and earned All-American honors in the 3000m steeplechase. Following graduation, he joined the coaching staff at University of Illinois, University of Tulsa, and University of Iowa as an assistant distance coach between 2015 and 2020. Outside of coaching, Ryan trains with Boulder-based post-collegiate training group, Roots Running Project (no relation), as a marathoner and is training for his second US Olympic Trial Marathon in 2024. This is Ryan's first year at the helm of the Fairview Cross Country program
Assistant Cross Country Coach/Head Track and Field Coach

In high school, Tricia was part of the Iowa State Championship 4x200m team. Tricia continued track into her college years at Buena Vista University where she ran a national qualifying time in the 100m dash and set the school record in both the 4x100m and Sprint Medley relays. After college, where she earned her degree in Athletic Training and Sports Administration, her passion for wellness and fitness lead her to a career in helping the community achieve their own fitness goals. Today along with coaching at Fairview High School, she is a certified fitness professional, licensed massage therapist, and the manager at Runners Roost.
Assistant Cross Country Coach
Claire hails from Virginia, where her high-school cross country team won a record-breaking number of consecutive state titles. She then walked on to the Track & Field / Cross-Country team at Vanderbilt University, where she focused on cross-country and the 5k and 10k during track, picking up All-Southeastern Conference and All-South Region individual honors, competed in multiple NCAA cross-country championships, and her senior year, led the Vanderbilt women to a South Region Championship title in cross-country. Claire moved to Boulder to pursue her M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Design at CU, and she now works in design research and strategy. Claire is entering her tenth year of coaching Cross Country at Fairview.
Assistant Cross Country Coach
Originally from New Jersey, Coach Lewis has lived in Boulder since 2004. Jim has taught English at Fairview since 2006 and is in his 10th season coaching Cross Country. In addition to Cross Country, Coach Lewis is an assistant Track coach and the head coach of the Fairview Mock Trial Team. In his spare time, Jim enjoys traveling, reading and running.
Assistant Cross Country Coach
Adam grew up in Colorado Springs CO. He attended Doherty High School where he went on to win 5 Colorado State titles. He won 3 consecutive state Cross Country titles, and during his senior year he won the Foot Locker H.S. Cross Country National Championship. He went on to run for the University of Colorado where he won 4 NCAA National Titles. After graduation he went on to run professionally for 13 years. Throughout his career he represented Team USA in the 5,000m at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games and won 8 National titles. He co-authored the book Running The Edge: Discover The Secrets To Better Running And A Better Life, which focuses on the connection between running and life. This led to the start of his company, Run The Edge which he and his partner grew through many iterations, into the premier online virtual running and fitness challenges platform. Adam and his partner sold Run The Edge in January of 2024. Since then Adam has been focused on how he can give back to the sport he loves. He is excited to be a part of the Fairview Cross Country family, where she can share his knowledge and experience with the next generation of youth runners.
