Drop off & Pick up Information

Students will enter the building through the main entrance starting at 7:45. We will dismiss at 2:45 from the entrance to the right of the flagpole.

Please make sure we are aware of how your child will regularly get home from school: bus (#/color), parent pick up, or SAC (after-school care at Douglass).   

**Additional parent parking is located in the lot on the North side of the school if the West lot is full.

*Please Note: If you arrive after 7:50 please sign your child in at the office. All day of changes to pick up schedule must be called into the office.

Tardies, Absences, and Change of Plans

Please communicate with all teachers involved!  1st, SAC, and Office!

Tardies:  please go through the front of the school and check in at the office.

Absences:  Please inform the school via the attendance line:  720-561-5542

Backpacks 

Please send your child to school with a regular sized backpack.  A regular sized backpack makes it much easier to carry everything to and from school each day. 

It is your child's responsibility to have a backpack everyday. It is the parent's responsibility to check it daily for important information that may be sent home. This is an extremely important source of communication between home and school. 

Toys

Please help your child leave toys, stuffed animals and blankies at home.  What seems like a nice way to send a comfort quickly becomes a distraction and too often leads to tears when it is misplaced, shared or broken at school!  Pictures of family members or a beloved pet can be tucked into a backpack or pocket if a little extra comfort from home is needed.

Lunch:  Please help your child know if they have a school lunch or one from home (hot lunch or cold). 

Snacks:  Please send 1 small, easy-to-eat healthy snack for your child each day.  

Water:  We have drinking fountains at school but many kids prefer to have a water bottle especially during these early, warm days of school.  Please check for leaks regularly and make sure they are rinsed and filled with fresh water each day.

Friday Folders

Your child will bring home a Friday Folder. These folders will come home most Fridays. Please REMOVE CONTENTS and return early the next week, either Monday or Tuesday. Friday Folders will be filled with class and whole school information, permission forms, children’s work and often a “Just Right” beginning reader.

Lost and Found

Please label everything!!!!!!!!!!
