New Science Classes For Next Year!
We are excited to announce that two new science classes were approved for the 26-27 school year.
GEO 1060 - Global Climate Change
ENV 1010 - Natural Disasters
Both courses are concurrent enrollment classes. Concurrent enrollment means that you will earn both high school and college credit. The courses are taught by BU teachers who are also qualified Front Range Community College instructors. The courses are housed in Schoology and are a part of your regular schedule.
These courses were not available to select in your course plan - if you are interested, please complete the New Science Course Interest Form
Let me know if you have any questions about these courses - kelly.carlson@bvsd.org

Grad+ College Course Registration is now open
There are three different ways that you can earn college credit while you are in high school. You can earn both high school and college credit through Front Range Community College. Tuition is paid for by BVSD.

DISTRICT SELECT - Students can access concurrent enrollment courses that are not available at BU through the BVSD taught courses. Courses are taught by BVSD teachers. District Select Course Offerings/Information
CAMPUS SELECT - If you are interested in a class that is not offered through BU or BVSD, but will help you with your postsecondary goals, you can take classes directly through Front Range Community college or Metro. BVSD's College Before Graduation Website

SENIORS - Scholarship information
Scholarship information that I receive via email is posted in Advisory as an EVENT that correlates with the scholarship deadlines.
It is also a good idea to pay attention to the scholarships offered by the college or university you would like to attend.
Going Merry is a great resource - It is akin to the CommonApp for Scholarships
Apply for the scholarships that take a bit of work or don't seem like they are very much $$. Everything adds up and there is often money left on the table.

Upcoming groups and volunteer opportunities
Tech Mentors
Tech mentors is a student group open to 6-12 graders. We meet once a month at the Age Well Center in Boulder and teach older adults how to use their computers or phones. This is a great volunteer opportunity for students and a way to connect one on one with older adults by teaching them how to use their devices. Please reach out to your BU mentor julie.graff@bvsd.org if you are interested in participating. The next event will be on November 7th from 2-3 p.m. Students need to get to and from the Age Well Center at 909 Arapahoe Ave in Boulder.
Have a fabulous day!
