Syllabus:
7th grade health is a one quarter class.
The list below are of the Units along with Lessons/Topics that are covered in 7th Grade Health. The topics are shown in the general order they are covered during the class:
Emotional & Mental Health (Qualities of healthy relationships, building healthy relationships, what is stress and how to reduce and manage stress)
Nutrition & Physical Activity (what influences food choices)
Tobacco, Alcohol, and other Drugs (truth about alcohol, vaping & marijuana, truth about experimentation & addiction, consequences of drug use, family, school, and community rules about drugs)
Violence & Injury Prevention (resisting dares, understanding violence, bullying (prevention), feelings and fights, skills to resolve conflict, dealing with unwanted touch)
HIV, STI, and Pregnancy Prevention (understanding sexual health, sexual identity & sexual stereotyping, consent, healthy romantinc relationships, reproduction and teen pregnancy, STI & HIV facts)
Abstinence, Puberty, & Personal Health (talking about sexuality, taking care of sexual health, feelings & relationships, benefits of abstinence, resisting sexual pressure)
