The Regents Exam in Global History II

NYS has regents exams that are required in 5 subject areas.

This course ends in the NYS Regents exam in Global History II, which would satisfy your regents requirement in social studies when you pass.

The test changed in 2019. It now only measures student knowledge of 10th grade content (this course) and focusses on skills of analysis of all types of documents that historians use. There is only one essay - the Enduring Issues Essay.

My focus is first and foremost on giving students a relevant, real-world, history course (as much as possible), however, the skills we focus on in and out of class are directly applicable to what the regents exam will ask students to know and be able to do.

You can see a sample test here.

** 2020 note - We have not yet heard from the state about the status of the Regents exam. There are certainly issues related to equity, as students are taking the course in so many different ways - hybrid, remote, etc. I will communicate with students and parents if and when the state makes a decision about Regents exams **
