Our goal with this part of the Friday @ 5:00 is to give you, as the parent(s), resources to have conversations about Jesus, with your family.
This week in Chapel, we talked about what it means to be a mature believer and how the Church is directly connected to it. As believers, Paul encourages us in Ephesians 4:1-7 to have the goal of unity in Christ. We are able to find that unity through being mature believers in Jesus. The mature believer is: completely humble, gentle and patient. When these three character traits are at work in the life of the Christian, unity in Christ naturally flows out of each of us.
Take the opportunity this weekend to talk as a family about what it means to be a mature follower of Jesus. Ask your child(ren) what they think that means. Spend time talking about true humility, what it means to be truly gentle and patient. Remind your child(ren) that humility, gentleness and patience from the Bible does not mean to be weak. Instead, remind them that Moses wrote the book of Numbers and in Numbers 12:3 Moses says that he was the most humble man to ever walk the earth. This is a clear example from God that we are to be confident, not arrogant, in who He has created each one of us to be in life. Moses was confident in who God had created him to be and he lived it out. In the same way, take some time to encourage your child(ren) to be confident in God.Â
