Our students had so much fun imagining what Leo the Lion was up to during his Christmas vacation—and their creativity truly shines! These stories are filled with imagination, humor, and heart, and they reflect the joy of learning and storytelling at BVCS. We’re so proud of our young writers and hope you enjoy reading about Leo’s adventures as much as they enjoyed writing them. Keep dreaming, writing, and sharing your stories—we can’t wait to see what you create next! 🦁✍️
Leo’s Christmas Break
By Lucia Stel
You would think that everyone would just be chilling on the couch watching Youtube on Christmas break, right? Well, maybe a lot of people do that. But Leo has a big job, he’s actually one of Santa’s pets! Every Christmas Eve, he catches a ride with Santa Claus in a great big sleigh! Santa’s sleigh! Up in the clouds Santa gives Leo all the cookies he doesn’t eat. Because Santa Claus is actually allergic to chocolate! So life lesson everyone, don’t put cookies out for Santa if they contain chocolate, or else Leo might get sick! Now back to the story, Leo and Santa Claus are best friends! They always have sleepovers at the North Pole with all the reindeer. So next time you see Leo the Lion , say hello and ask how it was at the North Pole!

“Leo Helping out the Homeless”
It is Christmas vacation. All the kids are at home enjoying the break. Leo leaves the school early because he has an idea. He goes to the store and buys wrapping paper, food, and bows for gifts. When Leo gets home, he wraps the food in the paper and puts a bow on each package.
You may be wondering, “Why did Leo buy wrapping paper and bows?” This is why: Leo plans to give food to people who are homeless so they won’t be hungry. As Leo leaves his house, he sees a homeless person and gives him some food. The person says, “Thank you.” In total, Leo gave out 27 gifts to people experiencing homelessness.

Leo’s Vacation
When Lion Elementary let out for Christmas break, Leo the Lion was bouncing off the walls with excitement. Maybe it was because that year they were going to Alaska for Christmas. Leo had always wanted a white, snowy Christmas. When Leo got home, his mom, Darcey the Lion, told him that she and Leo's dad, David the Lion, had a surprise for him.
When Leo's dad got home, his parents told Leo to sit down on the couch. When they told him that they were going to Alaska for Christmas, Leo got so excited that he ran to his room to pack immediately. About fifteen minutes later, his parents came into Leo's room. Leo then asked when they were leaving for Alaska. His parents said they were leaving in three days, and he should pack as many toys as he needed, plus mittens, a couple of jackets, and a beanie. Leo also asked how long they would be staying. He smiled ear to ear when his parents said eleven days.
When Leo and his family left for Alaska, their flight was three hours long. When they arrived, it was so snowy that their legs were halfway deep in the snow. When they finally arrived at their hotel, they unpacked and then rested. Leo was excited for the next day. When Leo got up, he ate his favorite cereal, Lion Charms, then woke his parents and told them that they needed to go outside and play snow games. His parents told him they needed five more minutes to sleep; then they would get up and get ready to go outside.
When Leo and his family went outside, Leo shouted that they should have a snowball fight. Their snowball fight lasted about twenty minutes because Leo had to use the restroom really badly. After Leo used the restroom, he and his family decided to make a snow lion. When they were done, they tried to sing "Frosty the Snow Lion" to see if he would come to life. They knew he would not, but to them it was worth a try.
Leo couldn't wait for his family's tradition of gathering at a fancy restaurant. It was the night before Christmas Eve, which meant they would go out for dinner. When Leo's mom tucked him in, all Leo could think about was which fancy restaurant they would go to the next day. After a couple of hours of excitement, Leo finally fell asleep.
On Christmas Eve, Leo was woken by his mom's alarm clock and the sound of his dad taking a shower. Bursting with excitement, Leo asked what restaurant they were going to. He got really excited when they said, "Lion's Den." Leo had heard great reviews about that restaurant. When Leo and his family arrived, they immediately ordered food. After they ate, they returned to their hotel — the next day would be Christmas!
On Christmas morning Leo got up to open his presents, so he went to his parents' bed to wake them. Leo couldn't believe his eyes when he saw how many presents he had. After counting, he shouted with a smile, "TEN!" After he opened all of his presents, he gave his mom and dad a big hug and said, "Thank you so much." Later, after opening gifts, Leo and his family had a big family Christmas dinner.
When it was time to go to the airport and fly home, Leo was so grateful for the snowy white Christmas in Alaska. He smiled for the rest of the day. On the plane, all he could think about were the fun memories from the Alaska trip that would last forever.
The End!
