Our goal with this part of the Friday @ 5:00 is to give you, as the parent(s), resources to have conversations about Jesus, with your family.

 Welcome back to Chapel! We're excited to get to be back together with you and your students for 2026. Today, in Chapel, we had a special guest speaker, Todd Hunnicutt, one of our missionaries from BVG, come speak to our students about Salvation. Our faith is centered on God, The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. When we talk about Salvation, we are focusing on the core message of the Gospel, which is the core message of Chrsitianity. In Ephesians 2:8-9, we read that we are saved by grace through faith and it's not because anything we have done, rather it is a gift from God, so that no one may boast. We cannot save ourselves. When John the Baptist was preparing the way for Jesus, he tells the people to repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Jesus calls us to repent, the dicisples call us to repent. When we come to Salvation in Jesus, by grace through faith, it is because we have recognized our need for a Savior and then we repent of our sin. Jesus paid the debt we could never pay, so that we might have freedom from sin and be justified before God the Father.

This weekend, while you're enjoying time as a family, practice what Moses tells the Israelites in Deuteronomy 6 - remind your children of what God has done for us and through His Word, when you wake up, when you are on your way, when you share a meal and when you lie down. Take time, throughout your day to ask your child(ren) what does it mean to be saved? What does it mean to repent? What does it mean to believe in Jesus? As your child(ren) answer these questions, remind them of what Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us. Take them to Romans 10:9-10. Enrouage them, that our faith is not in vain, it is in Jesus. Our hope, trust, joy and life come from Him, He is our all.
