A NOTE FROM LEADERSHIP:

Dear BVCS Families,

One of the things I value most about Christian education is that we intentionally make room for moments that go beyond the classroom. We want to build community, strengthen relationships, and most importantly, point our students toward Jesus.

We began our first full week together Monday with All-School Chapel, gathering our entire BVCS family from preschool through 12th grade in one room. It's a unique time to bring everyone together from our youngest students to our seniors. It's also a great reminder that despite the many ages, classrooms, activities, and programs represented on our campus, we are one school family with one shared mission.

This year, our chapel theme is David: Shepherd, King, Servant, and throughout the year we will continue asking one important question: Who sits on the throne in your heart? Our desire is that Jesus remains at the center of everything we do whether it is through academics, athletics, the arts, relationships, service, or leadership.

Monday also gave us the opportunity to welcome many of our new BVCS families at our New Family Breakfast. Building community doesn't happen accidentally, and we want families who are new to BVCS to quickly discover that they aren't simply enrolling their children in a school; they are becoming part of a community that desires to know them, support them, and partner with them.

And this week, our high school students stepped away from their normal school schedule for three days at Hume Lake. Giving up three academic days this early in the school year is intentional. We believe there is tremendous value in creating space for our students to build relationships with one another and their teachers, spend concentrated time in worship and God's Word, and establish a spiritual foundation for the year ahead.

These are the kinds of investments that reflect who we want to be as a Christian school. Academic excellence matters deeply to us, but so does forming young people who know Jesus, who are able to build meaningful relationships, serve others, and learn to put Christ at the center of their lives.

Thank you for trusting us to partner with you in that work. It is a privilege we don't take lightly, and I am grateful for the year we have ahead of us together.

CELEBRATING BVCS:

We kicked off our first full week of school in one of the best ways possible—together in All School Chapel! Students from preschool through 12th grade gathered as one BVCS family to worship, celebrate the start of a new year, and focus our hearts on Jesus.

This year, we’re studying the life of David through our theme, “David — Shepherd, King, Servant.” Our guiding question for the year is simple but powerful: “Who sits on the throne in your heart?”

We’re so grateful for the teachers and staff who are already pouring into students—helping them grow academically while encouraging them to be Christ-centered in everything they do. What a meaningful way to set the tone for the year ahead!
