Add/Drop Deadline for 1st Semester

The add/drop deadline for schedule changes is Wednesday, August 26th.  Students can make necessary schedule changes until that time with no penalty.  

Weeks 1-2: Drop with no penalty

Weeks 3-13: Drop with a W on transcript 

Weeks 14-18: Drop with an F on transcript 

A W on a student’s transcript is not factored into the student’s GPA.  An F on a student’s transcript will be factored into the student’s GPA.

A student who drops a course past the first two weeks of school will automatically be enrolled in a study hall period for the remainder of the semester for zero credits.  Once the semester is complete, the student can enroll in another course to earn credits.  

MJC Dual Enrollment

Fall 2026 classes start Monday, August 24th!  

Students are required to submit a new petition to MJC each school year.  The Fall/Spring/Summer 2026-2027 petition covers classes for this entire year.

Make sure you communicate with Mrs. Poole directly if you are registered for a dual enrollment course.  

You also need to have an official transcript submitted to BVCS to receive high school credit upon completion of your course(s).

Delta College Trades Day!

A group of BVCS students got to experience the many career opportunities in the construction field at a local Trades Day event, hosted by Valley Builder's Exchange.  Students learned about different training programs and apprenticeship opportunities, got to participate in different hands on experiences and made connections with those who work in the construction field!   

Jessup University Partnership

BVCS and Jessup University have formed a partnership that gives our students $4,000/year in college scholarships if they attend Jessup straight after high school.  Read the below flyer for more information about this amazing opportunity!

IGETC is a general education pattern that, upon full or “partial” (all but two courses) certification, will satisfy all or most lower-division general education requirements at California State University (CSU) campuses, most University of California (UC) campuses/majors, and some private/independent or out-of state universities. All courses must be passed with a grade of “C” or higher. IGETC certification is not recommended for “high-unit” majors. Complete a Guidance class or meet with a counselor to accurately plan coursework to satisfy transfer admission and upper-division major requirements.
