You will click on the following links to read about Colorado's Native Americans. Please fill out the Native Americans Note Catchers and glue them into your interactive notebook as you go through this WebQuest.
You'll need to click on all of the links provided. Be sure to watch each video. Keep it at a manageable volume that is not too loud for your classmates.

Task 1:
For many years, Indians were the only people living here. Each group continued to develop its own way of life. Some people believe that over time, the Fremont people (who you studied earlier in the year) became part of other Indian groups. We call these groups historic Indians because we have histories or written records about their lives.
Throughout the years, several historic Indian groups, or tribes have lived in Colorado. Utes, Shoshones, Pawnees, Apaches, Kiowa, and Comanches lived here long ago. Later, Utes continued to live in the region, as did Cheyennes and Arapahos. We will learn about these three tribes that lived in the region the longest.
In this task, you will print out the notes guide and write down any important or interesting information. You will use the guide to write your paper.

Study the three main tribes of Colorado: Utes, Arapaho, and Cheyenne. Click on the links below to get the information. Each member of your group will pick one tribe to study in depth. Take notes on your note catcher. Be sure to read the pages in the websites provided. They provide lots of information.
Task 4:
Many groups influenced the lives of Native Americans throughout Colorado's history. Let's explore how these groups impacted the lives of Native Coloradans. Each member of your group will choose a topic to take notes on. Some members may have two topics. Click on the picture below to get to the information. Take notes in your note catcher.
Task 6:
RAFT Writing Activity. Print out or open up the RAFT guide. Follow the directions in the guide. Write your piece in your Interactive Notebook. Write neatly and edit your work.

Based on what you have learned about the Native Americans and their life in Colorado, fill out the cause-and-effect guide. Glue it into your Interactive Notebook.
Task 8:
Write your paper about the first residents of Colorado, the Native Americans, based on the criteria in the form. You will do this individually, and your paper must be typed. Click on the form to print it out.
Task 9:
Present your information to the class! You can do this in several ways. Choose one of the options on the choice board below. There is one non-negotiable that you MUST do. That is to create a timeline of the Native Americans in Colorado. You will add this to the main timeline in the class.
