For this project, we designed and built a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system integrated with a Human Machine Interface (HMI). The goal was to create an automated control system that could monitor and control a simulated industrial process in real time.
Using the PLC, we programmed logic to handle sensor inputs, control outputs, and ensure the system operated safely and efficiently. The HMI was developed to provide a user-friendly interface where operators could view live data, start or stop the process, and adjust parameters.
For this project, we designed and built a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system integrated with a Human Machine Interface (HMI). The goal was to create an interactive “Whack-a-Mole” game that simulates real-time industrial control while engaging the user through increasing levels of difficulty.
Using the PLC, we programmed logic that utilized timers, inputs, and outputs to control the activation of lights and corresponding push buttons. The system was designed with multiple levels, where the speed of the lights increased as the player progressed, requiring faster reaction times and demonstrating dynamic control adjustments. The HMI was developed to provide a user-friendly interface that displayed the player’s score in real time, showed a final score screen at the end of the game, and allowed the user to easily return to the home page to restart or exit the system.
