The middle of the school year is an exciting time in the technology lab. Students have settled into their learning environment, understand expectations and learning is in full-swing. Once students are able to understand access, higher level thinking and learning can occur. The last half of the school year will have a heavy focus on computer science through computational thinking concepts like programming and hands-on technology. Acquired through the PAsmart initiative, Dash robots, iPads, iPod Touches and other age-appropriate technology have afforded Bon Air Elementary students with equity and access to . Students will be learning computational concepts through structured play.
Stewart Elementary continues to plan a public food truck event scheduled for Friday, March 27, 2020 from 5pm to 8pm at Bon Air Elementary. This event is in celebration of the 5th grade's hard work and dedication to being young entrepreneurs. Students learn about what an entrepreneur is, how to successfully communicate electronically, business plan, market, advertise, plan and program to create an interactive menu and establish brand identity.
Thanks to the Arconic Foundation, Stewart Elementary students have been provided with new technology to support computer science, app development and career exploration efforts.
