Transitioning to 1st grade, students will spend time building on the skills set they had learned in Kindergarten. Reviewing foundation skills such as computer navigation, students will be introduced to terminology and parts of a computer to understand function and purpose. Keyboarding will continue to be a practiced skill to increase their comfort level with key placement and two-handed typing. An introduction to programming concepts will introduce computational thinking and authentic choice toward problem solving. As students' computer navigational skills and terminology develop, more electronic activities will be completed.
