Science

Generating curiosity in science.

Taking a break from screen time is important and during wellbeing week the science department have been promoting the use of podcasts as a way to continue learning whilst relaxing and unwinding or doing outdoor activities.

There are many scientific podcasts available to listen to for free on the BBC sounds app and on other platforms such as Spotify. Some of these podcasts will go beyond the science you are taught in the classroom and will promote your curiosity in all areas of science.

Getting in touch with nature over the next few weeks can have a calming influence on children and adults alike, providing a much needed break from home learning and it can provide a great excuse to get outdoors and get some fresh air even if it’s just for a few minutes a day.

Here are some suggested activities related to the science curriculum:

Cloud Spotting Guide

Take time to make observations of the daily changes in the sky during the day and night looking at the clouds, phases of the moon and the stars.

Stargazing and Constellations
