PreK:**BTSD does not have the capacity to offer preK to all age-eligible students. PreK registration is limited to those students who won seats in the lottery, or those placed by the Child Study Team.**
STEP 2:After completing step 1, monitor your email for a confirmation, and directions for the next steps. There are 10 forms and multiple pieces of documentation that you will upload via a secure link. Gather these documents and take photos or scans of each so you are ready to upload:
Proof of Residency (2 documents) REQUIRED
Lease/Deed/Mortgage statement AND current land-based utility bill
Child Records REQUIRED*
Birth certificate or Passport
Immunization Record
Transfer Card if Previous School was a NJ Public School
*Report cards, transcripts, IEPs or other records may be required for placement
Proof of Your Identity
A photo id for each parent/guardian
TIP 1: Submitting forms electronically AND uploading the required documents, at the same time SPEEDS UP the process, so that your forms are not rejected. Emailing or dropping of your documentation instead of uploading it SLOWS DOWN the process. Our office will accept your email or visit, but it will delay your registration process by several days.
TIP 2: Emailing or calling to check on the progress SLOWS DOWN the process. Instead, log into your parent portal to see if forms were accepted or rejected. "Pending" means you made your submission, and we have not yet reviewed it. You will receive email from our office when the process is finished!
TIP 3: We understand that some families may not have access to technology beyond email. You may email registration@burltwpsch.org or call our office to inquire about options. We can assist you, but your child's registration will not be completed as quickly as the electronic option. If you need to email, using the same email address that you used to register your child is much appreciated. Using multiple email addresses SLOWS DOWN the process
A) If you live in a residence that does not have your name on the lease/deed/mortgage, you and the legal property owner may need to complete a Temporary Residency Process. Email registration@burltwpsch.org and provide information so that we may assist. Please start early. This process requires notarized documents and a meeting with a district representative, which add 1-2 weeks to the process.
B) If you are not on the birth certificate as the child's parent, or do not have court-appointed custody of the child, you and the child's legal guardian may need to complete a Guardianship Affidavit. Email registration@burltwpsch.org and provide information so that we may assist. Please start early. This process requires notarized documents and a meeting with a district representative, which add 1-2 weeks to the process.
C) If you prefer to communicate in a language other than English, email registration@burltwpsch.org with your child's name, your phone number and name, and the language you are seeking. We can contact you via an interpreter service.
