Lunch

Lunch Structure

Lunch begins at 12pm. Younger students (TK-2nd Grade) eat first, whilst older students (3rd-5th Grade) play.

A bell sounds for two transitions:

1. After 13 minutes younger students who have finished eating are released to play and older students who chose to are able to access the lunch area.

2. After 20 minutes all younger students are released to play and all older students transition to eating their lunch.

School Meals

California mandates that public schools provide free breakfast (which our students have at recess) and lunch for all students who would like to choose this option.

Teachers will take a lunch count in the morning and students opting for school lunch will be recorded at a Point of Sale system as they pick up their lunch.

All students will be able to eat hot lunch if they opt in, including TK and Kindergarten students who will eat their lunch early on 12pm dismissal days.

School meals are provided by Chartwells.

Information about school meals is available in the following locations:

Please consider completing this application for free school meals - whilst all children are provided with meals without cost, funding for other things is linked to free school meal applications. In order to make sure we maximize the funding that we get we are asking all families who are willing to turn in this application to do so. If you need help or a paper copy please reach out to Mrs. O'Dea or Mrs. Lawrence.

Forgotten Lunches

Students can call home for a forgotten lunch. Please deliver a forgotten lunch to the front office (to avoid interrupting the classroom) with the child's name and classroom number.
