We are very passionate about the students, families, and communities we serve. Sheppard Air Force Base and our military connected families are a valued part of the BISD community. Our relationship with Sheppard Air Force Base through Base Leadership, the School Liaison Officer, and the Sheppard Spouses Clubplays an important role in helping us continue to improve our ability to meet the needs of our military connect students.
Through our Vision of, “Formal education is a launching point, preparing students for a future unknown.” we are developing learning experiences for our students that engage them in their own learning and creating future leaders of America
We are proud of the hands on, collaborative learning environment found within BISD. Through our Project Based Learning instructional model and our willingness to meet the needs of ALL students, we are preparing the whole student for whatever future they chose.
Thank you for considering BISD. If you have any questions, please contact the District Offices at 940-569-3326.
Moving schools can be a difficult season for military students. At Burkburnett ISD, we want to make this transition easier. That’s why we have programs like Student 2 Student set up to make our students feel welcomed by our friendly staff and students, no matter where you came from, no matter who you are.
The Air Force School Liaison Program Manager Office (SLO) helps parents ease the impact of the mobile military lifestyle for their children. The SLO provides information prior to a move, upon arrival and while stationed at an installation. One of the important roles of the School Liaison is to connect families, schools and the military community in order to facilitate the educational transition and academic experience of military children.
BISD S2S Coordinator, BHS Campus Liaison
An S2S (Student 2 Student) Liaison typically manages peer-to-peer mentoring programs (often within military-connected schools). They train and guide student ambassadors to welcome newly relocated children, ease their academic and social transitions, and help them integrate into the new school community.
