STUDENT EXPECTATIONS

If we are to experience a sequential progression of skill building allowing each student to gain the necessary knowledge to be successful during every phase of music education, then it requires each member to give 110% of their cooperation and support to this organization. Together we will meet the following expectations for continued success of our program.

Your participation will...

1. Continuously develop the ability to sight-read

2. Develop a strong, mature vocal quality

3. Develop tonal memory

4. Develop self-confidence and pride in the organization on and off stage

5. Master a diverse repertoire of choral literature

6. Develop an appreciation for beauty and artistic principles

Choir students are expected to...

1. Choir students are expected to be the face of excellence for Burkburnett Middle School & BISD.

2. Choir students are expected to maintain academic eligibility.

3. Choir students are expected to respect ALL administrators, teachers, and other adult supervision at all times.

4. Choir students are expected to attend ALL performances.

5. Choir students are expected to participate in our district and region activities.

Daily, you are expected to...

1.   Come to class on time, prepared with your necessary supplies and    materials

2.  Be in your seat and ready to work when class begins

3.   Listen and follow directions

4.   Keep your hands, feet and other objects to yourself

5.   Speak appropriately in a quiet, inside voice.

6.   Always do your best! Nothing less!

Daily, you will be asked...

1.   Do I have my music folder?

2.   Is my purse / book bag / book(s) in the designated area? 

3.   Did I dispose of my gum, candy, or food items?

4.   Are my electronic devices put away?

5.   Am I in my seat?

6.   Do I have a pencil?
