A Preparatory Course in Calculus

Conducted on the 7^th of November 2020 and 2^nd of December 2020 via Google meet and Facebook live with the theme “MathSoc Cares: Guiding Mathizens to the Challenge of New Normal”, the project is a webinar series that served as a bridging program for the first year BS Mathematics students of Bulacan State University by providing them with the foundational knowledge in Calculus.

Given the fact that most of the participants are from non-STEM strands, the webinar revolved around the subjects of Algebra and Trigonometry which are both essential in mastering their future Mathematics courses especially Calculus. The discussion was done by Mr. Radjaven Villacarlos and lasted for 3 hours each.

The webinar includes not only discussions but also some practices to effectively equip the students with the necessary learnings. The participants had also the opportunity to ask questions on the things they wish to clarify.

In addition, “Preparatory Course on Calculus” is the first-ever bridging program of the Mathematics Society done online, although a similar project had already been done prepandemic.

Furthermore, the project and the likes have been of great help in aiding and preparing the BS Mathematics freshmen in taking their higher Mathematics subjects both before and during the new learning setup.
