2021-2022

President and Vice Presidents

Norie Lyn Dela Cruz

President

Being in an organization is like having a second family. I didn't realize that I could go this far because of an impulsive decision way back in my first year in college. In my almost four years' stay in MathSoc, I've learned a lot of things that help me grow as an individual and a student leader. But I am thankful because of MathSoc, I discovered more about myself, but most importantly, it became an avenue for me to pursue my passion for serving other people. It brought color and excitement to my college life, and I influenced others to do the same, help our fellow students, and become part of something greater. And for me, I think it is my most significant achievement of being a student leader, having someone that will continue the legacy that MathSoc started. For the last year, I want to thank all of our Mathizens for trusting and believing in me. I am Norie Lyn M. Dela Cruz signing-off for the last time.

Joshua Valeroso

Internal Vice President

Being a Vice President is an extra challenging position because it is often referred to as the "pinakawalang-kwentang position" in an organization. In order to prove that I have a relevant and vital role in this organization, I have to make ways in finding myself busy with org works and making my own duties even if really there's not anything to do often.

It is not easy to be an officer of an organization and a self-proclaimed hardworking student, while doing it both with extra effort. But those difficult times of being an active officer is an escape from my struggles as a student and from my personal issues. I see this organization as my safe place, a stressful safe place. Ironic, right? But you will eventually understand it when you entered an organization, especially MathSoc.

This organization pushed me to my limits and let my hidden capabilities as a student and as a leader to bloom. (Huwaw, akala mo naman?) A special thanks to our adviser Ma'am Blez for believing in my not-so-excellent (Oh diba, kaloka?) skills in writing, quiz bee, and other technical stuffs. To my fellow MathSoc officers and all the Mathizens, you're
very kind IVP is ready to take the next step. See you soon!

Jaypee Alamin

External Vice President

MathSoc turned out to be a training ground and a safe space at the same time because this org really helped me in satisfying my burning passion to help other people through its projects and it also gave me people to trust, to talked to, and family to treasure.

Actually, during my first 2 years in College gustong-gusto ko na ma-try ang MathSoc because of its mission and vision to help the BS Mathematics students pero hesitant ako kasi hindi ako sure kung ano ang maibibigay ko sa kanila pagdating sa values na mayroon sila. Then third year came, na-"budol" ako ng classmates ko na nasa MathSoc and nakita ko kung gaano sila kasaya at ka-fulfilled during their stay so nag-try ako and I am happy to say na nagpabudol ako kasi ngayon isa na ako sa mga nagbibigay buhay para makulayan ang magagandang hangarin ng MathSoc para sa members, sa College, sa University at sa Philippine Society.

Secretariat (SEC) Committee

Olivia Bernardo

Secretariat Committee Head

"MathSoc is my escape."

I know, it is unbelievable lalo na kapag Secretariat Committee Head for two consecutive terms ang nagsabi. Kasi naman, you do not need to solve complex mathematical problems in MathSoc.

I learned in MathSoc that you do not need to have excellent skills, especially first-rate grammar skills, because MathSoc itself will develop your skills.

Kaya, SALAMAT MATHSOC!

Actually, ayoko talaga mag-officer. Napilit lang ako. There are lots of reasons to say "NO," but there is one reason why I said "YES" - TRUST.

It was a great decision when I decided to grab the opportunity. Though sometimes, I found myself "tulala" sa dami ng gawain pero grabe yung fulfillment na ibibigay sayo after accomplishing all the tasks.

Paul Miki Cruz

Secretary for Communications Associate

MathSoc is it about Mathematics? Academics? Organization? Yes, but also No. MathSoc is more than what you first expect it to be, and it will always be better.

The essence of the organization comes from its members improving themselves and helping others improve likewise. Being a member of MathSoc is a big help for me to gain confidence and maintain sanity. It might not be the bravest action I made, but it is the most sensible of them all.

MathSoc is a safe place to rebuild yourself in preparation for the future. It will always be there to support you, so hold on tight.

How does Mathematics Society affect my life as a student?

The first time I heard the organization's name "Mathematics Society" I had an impression that it was only for those who were good in mathematics. But the moment that I become a part of MathSoc, there are many things that I realized.

MathSoc is not only for those who were good in mathematics, joining this organization is like having a new family, especially in this time of pandemic where I wasn't able to communicate with other students due to the pandemic. Before, the only group that I know were my classmates, but as I join MathSoc there are ate's and kuya's and now even bunso's who become part of our family.

Joining the Mathematics Society is a game-changer. You'll be doing things and stuff that you did not think that you'll be able to do before. Just like being a host in an event. This organization help me boost my confidence and they made me feel welcome. There are times that we have loads of work to do, but acads came first as always and that's what I like in this organization. At the end of the day, I'm grateful and blessed to be given a chance and become a part of the Mathematics Society.

Cherry Surio

Secretary for Records Associate

MathSoc is extending opportunities for every student and develops our personal skills. Through joining this organization, we can adapt to different environment and can engage with new people while learning.

For me, it is worth the time and effort being part of MathSoc. Working with admirable students and advisers can inspire us to perform well and build our confidence. Also, we can help other students with our skills and share informative learnings through the projects that MathSoc is putting into action that will be useful with their programs.

Gretchen Sison

Secretary for Records Associate

Mathsoc served as my first step of saying YES to myself. I couldn't believe that from "Sige, I'll try na mag apply" to "OMG part na ko ng mga projects!!" would even be possible especially with the multiple workloads during these times. Being a part of the Mathematics Society, you can feel the warmth of every ate and kuya as they are literally one chat away. Thinking about it, I couldn't even count the times to which I receive a message of "kailangan mo tulong?" and with that, I can proudly say that I belong. I belong to this family and these are my people.

Donita Rose Cruz

Secretary for Records Associate

Before, I was really hesitant to be an officer because I didn't want to take on more responsibilities and I wasn't very sociable.

I was in my final year of college when I finally decided to apply and stepped out of my comfort zone. Having no friends at first really doesn't matter, everyone will welcome new members warmly and treat you as a family.

Despite the number of recognition and awards received by MathSoc, pressure to do outstanding work isn't a thing here. MathSoc is more than just an extra workload, it's a place that offers many opportunities to learn more and develop skills.

Membership Committee (MEMCOM)

Bealyn Aguilar

Membership Committee Head

The Mathematics Society assists its members intellectually, and most especially socially, by connecting them with other college students who share similar life goals, such as completing their studies and making many memories with their peers. MathSoc also helps people develop leadership skills, as stated in its vision and mission. It offers programs that are beneficial to its members, including webinars, tutorials, and even entertaining activities that are both exciting and pleasurable.

Since my first year of college, I've been a member of the Mathematics Society. I've seen how well-prepared and enthusiastic its executives are about the projects they offer. Their recommended programs allow me to obtain information in a variety of disciplines while also allowing me to get to know and meet new people. My friends (MathSoc officials) encourage me to join the organization, and they also encourage me to apply for an officer position. I can honestly state that I am grateful and overjoyed that I chose to serve on the Executive Board of MathSoc A. Y. '21-'22. As officers, we can assure you that our organization has a number of dedicated leaders that are eager to serve and give their all to make MathSoc not just a good, but an unbreakable organization that makes its members happy and provides them with unforgettable experiences.

Pauline Rea Dela Cruz

MEMCOM Associate for AS

Salamat Mathsoc!

Diether Alday

MEMCOM Associate for BA

Rayniel Villamor

MEMCOM Associate for CS

Mathematics Society was the best, kasi ito yung unang naging organization ko inside the Bulacan State University.

Anna Mae Tolentino

MEMCOM Associate for CS

Mathematics Society has a big part in my college life. Weeks ago, after ng 1st day as a freshie this organization conducted an application for membership so sumali ako as a member lang. Naging EB member ako 2nd year na. Dito you can explore and showcase your hidden talent. They will help you to be the best as they are. Walang maiiwan dito #NoOneWillLeftBehind, we are a team and a family here. Thank you so much Mathematics Society for the opportunity that you give to me. I am forever grateful and it's an honor to be with this society! More projects to come, more power and keep up the good work! Thank you very much. Godbless us all.

Finance Committee (FINCOM)

Finance Committee Head

The eagerness to serve my fellow students and grow as a person pushed me to join this organization. In my three years as an officer in the Mathematics Society, I got more than I expected. I got a lot of friends, knowledge, moments, and family that I treasured the most from this organization.

Sulong Mathizens!

Jamaica Mariñas

It's my last year in college as well as being in a college organization. Time flies so fast without noticing the changes we impart from MathSoc. Our family extended and new positions for this academic year we're created. We, their seniors, feel secure knowing that a lot of students want to help and serve other people. Their first year in MathSoc would be their training ground and stepping stone for better reaching the needs of our fellow students. I would say that MathSoc is not just an organization but an instrument for who I am today. I've learned how to fight my anxiety in public speaking and to partake in someone's life. It doesn't matter how many people can see your deeds as long as it comes from your heart and expect nothing in return.

Student Development Committee (SDC)

John Michael Estacio

Student Development Committee Head

In college, student organization is critical. As a student, I feel that joining academic groups will enable us to cater to our academic demands, as well as act as a road to be progressive and develop more relationships. When I was in first year-second semester, I joined the Mathematics Society. When I first joined, I noticed how student-centered this organization was. Despite the pandemic, MathSoc was able to give students with relevant projects. And now that I am their SDC Head, I am continuing to serve in Math Soc since I have seen how passionate and committed this group is. With Mathematics Society, the future of College of Science is as clear as crystal!

Adrian Bernardino

Programs Associate

I joined the Mathematics Society simply because, I want to be a part of a community where I could potentially grow myself. I also want to meet people who are also interested in Math. Interestingly, I became one of the officers, and they kept me in. I became more appreciative of all the efforts MathSoc gives to help us, students.

Mathematics Society is the first organization I joined in my college journey. Being a part of this small community, I was able to see for myself the essence of the program, as a BS mathematics student. Mathematics Society gives their sincerity to help students transpire to appreciate mathematics and its applications.

Emmerick Julian

Research Associate

Mark Angelo Frondoso

One word. Unity. MathSoc is an excellent organization that unites students with mathematical curiosity and brings out the best in them.

I joined MathSoc in order to hone my skills as an individual and skyrocket towards success.

Ana Nisha Mae Dionisio

Education Associate

When I entered college, my sister told me that being in an organization will make my college life easier and more memorable. At first, I was hesitant to do so for I know that I am not socially capable and I can't take any more responsibility. I volunteered in a tutoring event of Mathematics Society with a sole reason of helping kids to learn something. But ever since that day, I knew that this organization is something I must experience before I graduate.

Mathematics Society made me believe that I am someone that is capable of leading my fellow students, that I can be better than who I am. More than that, I am gripped with what this organization does- help its community. From their webinars, tutoring programs and even scholarships, you'll really see how much their dedicated in serving BS Math students. Lastly, the unexpected friendships that I made during our term is the best thing that I treasure the most.

I may not be certain with all my decisions in life but one thing's for sure, being part of Mathematics Society is something I will never regret <333

Calvin Eladia

Education Associate

Isa sa mga dahilan kaya ako nag-enter sa MathSoc ay gusto ko makihalubilo sa mga taong willing to serve their beloved program. Kahit gaano kaliit o kalaki. MathSoc is the best!

Isa ang MathSoc kung bakit ngayon ako ay patuloy na lumalaban kahit pandemic, patuloy na binibigay lahat ng makakaya dahil nariyan sila na naniniwala sa'ting lahat, “we are more, we can be more, we will be more”.

Wish you all the best mga ate/kuya, alam naming magtatagumpay kayo.

PICC Head

At first, I just wanted to go out of my comfort zone, challenge myself in a different landscape, and learn but now, I also want to be part of what MathSoc is doing for the people they serve—giving value.

I see MathSoc as an organization that commits itself to give value not just to its members but also to the community at large. This is proved by their diverse projects that also have diverse but clear objectives: webinars, scholarship, extension programs, and many more. Indeed, MathSoc exists to serve as they embody excellence and goodness.

Rampel Jade Bautista

Public Communication Associate

I decided to be a Math Soc officer because it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that you should not let slip away for every college student.

In this organization, you will learn to get out of the cave you have been in for so long and explore different things that would help you gain knowledge and develop skills that you do not know are hiding inside of you. Before, I always rejected the offer of the Math Soc's present president, President Norielyn, for positions available, thinking I was not qualified and capable of doing so, without knowing that being an officer would be something I would be grateful for life. That it is something that would help me as a student and as a person trying to keep up with the world.

If you are given a chance, grab it and appreciate it, because, one thing's for sure, you will not regret being a part of a family called the Mathematics Society. They will embrace you and teach you the things you need to know to improve without judging you and your capabilities. Go discover, explore, improve, and let us all learn together with the Mathematics Society.

Jay Mark Mendoza

Public Information Associate

MathSoc is an organization that feels like a second home to me. My co-officers are helpful and they are approachable. I was only a member from the first to the third year, but this fourth year, my final year in college, I decided to become an officer. Actually, I was a student leader in high school, and I missed the days when I was inspired by my desire to serve my fellow students, which is why I jumped at the chance to join MathSoc. Every project we completed was really fulfilling since we know that every student had a good time and learned something from it. I am honored to be a member of this organization. MathSoc was one of the highlights of college that I will never forget.

Ethics Committee (ETHICS)

Ethics Committee Head

Life changing! Syempre, last but not the least, ay yung friendship na nabuo sa pamamagitan ni MathSoc.

Logistics Committee (LOGISTICS)

Russel Joseph Martinez

Logistics Committee Head

Since freshmen, here in BulSU, I was a member of the Mathematics Society. This org even continue the extension where in they taught other elementary students in some schools through virtual mode in online mode of learning. And I appreciate yung mga pagpunta-punta nila sa ampunan to somehow help those kids na nandoon. Yon and yung mga bagay na di ko pa nasabi are the things na hinahangaan ko sa organization na ito.

Daryl Azura

External Associate

Mathsoc is a family for me. This is my first organization in my college life. First year pa ako noon noong sumali ako rito.

At sama-sama kayong mahihirapan sa mga projects pero makikita mo nalang sarili mo na nakangiti dahil worth it siya at the end of the day.

Kaya ano pang hinihintay mo?

Louise Kamil Yambao

Sponsorship Associate

Hello there! Gusto ko mag-thank you sa MathSoc, why? kasi yung MathSoc din ang nagparamdam na may ability ako na hindi ko inaakala parang MathSoc bring out the best in me( yieee pati si crush charizzz) and yung pagiging officer ng MathSoc hindi sya parang display lang kasi lahat talaga gagalaw at magwowork para sa mga event. And sobrang laking opportunity na mapabilang as an officer ng MathSoc kasi iba yung pinagsasamahan kahit mas madalas chat lang naguusap at di personal dahil sa pandemic.

Actually, may kumuha sakin na classmate ko parang recruit na nga ganon kasi barat daw ako haha dejk pero extrovert person kasi ako, so mas madali me maki-mingle sa ibang tao i guess since then makapal na talaga mukha ko haha. Anyways at first ayoko talaga kasi mahiyain ako sa una haha pero as time passed by mas napalapit ako sa mga kapwa member ko although hindi pa lahat pero sa MathSoc talaga nakita ko yung mga akala kong hindi ko kayang gawin dati.

Marilou Cruz

Sponsorship Associate

Mathsoc?

Multimedia Committee (MultiCom)

Keith Eigns Sayo

Action comes before motivation.

Isang effective na training ground 'to kasi nahahasa yung capabilities mo to lead. Madidistinguish mo yung Do's and Dont's thru experience. Also, importante din yung friendships and connections na mabuibuild mo kasi pwede mo yun dalhin even after college.

I joined the Mathematics Society because I want to share my skills in making publication materials. The benefits of joining the Mathematics Society improved the way I manage my time and has allowed me to connect with fun, talented and creative individuals. Moreover, the most fulfilling component of being a student organisation member is sharing your skills with the student.

It has been two years since I've decided to embark this college journey with MathSoc. It has been fun and I've learned quite a few life lessons and skills that will develop me as a person. Having an org like MathSoc drives me to become a competent student and also an associate. We don't view hierarchies here, every opinion matters and everyone's voice are heard. We continue to forge a path where every student is confident on our support and/or help. We always look for the bigger picture and make plans that are solely for the students, our schoolmates and hopefully become part of our growing family.

This organization has brought so much realization and remarkable experiences.

As a mathsoc member, I witnessed their efforts and dedication to help the students to be more engaged with the mathematics.

And now as a mathsoc officer, I appreciate the organization more than before because of the teamwork and consistency towards to its certain goal. I am thankful to be part of the Mathematics Society because it allows me to improve my skills, learn a lot of new things that will help me in the future, and to build friendships in the organization.

MathSoc is my second home, a place for growth, and something that I would treasure and would be proud of for the rest of my life.

Dati lang kong member to be honest. Pero simula nung chinallege ko yung sarili ko na sumali sa Sail Academy ng BulSU OSO, I was given an opportunity na maging isa sa officers ng MathSoc. I did it voluntarily kasi gusto ko nang lumabas sa shell ko nun para malift-up yung bumabagsak kong self-esteem dahil na rin sa pagbagsak ko noon sa dream school at course ko. I promised myself na hindi ko man ma-achieve 'yun gaya ng SHS classmates ko, I can make a better future for myself. I'll make the best out of the things na meron ako. And I'm so thankful and proud of myself for what I did, dahil I am what I am right now because of that. Worth it ang pagiging parte ng MathSoc.

I really recommend fellow students to join and experience the life in MathSoc. College life is more fun with MathSoc!

Chris Danielle Javier

Student Adviser - External

Entering college, I never expected to be a part of an organization that saw my potential as a person and made my college experience more enjoyable. I've gained a variety of skills that have aided in my development as an individual and as a student leader. However, I am grateful for MathSoc because it helped me discover more about myself and, more significantly, it provided a great experience in being in an environment that I was unfamiliar with.

3 years akong na “budol” ng MathSoc, but still it was fun and it was life changing. Malaking tulong din sakin ang organization because connections and syempre tulong din sa acads. Though sa totoo lang I chose to join MathSoc to expand my horizon, expand my knowledge at tsaka magkaroon ng part sa college without being a part of the student council
