District Trauma-Informed Education Plan
Pursuant to KRS 158.4416, each local board of education must develop a plan for implementing a trauma-informed approach in its schools. Bullitt County Public Schools Trauma-Informed Education Plan includes trauma awareness, school climate assessments and trauma-informed discipline policies. Bullitt County Public Schools and local law enforcement work together through a program called "Handle with Care" to communicate regarding students who have been impacted by trauma. The district plan outlines a training plan for faculty and staff as well as other programs that help in reducing the impact of trauma, support critical learning and to foster a positive and safe school environment for every student.
A part of this plan includes faculty training, district and school level teams to assess school progress and student voice.
