Mrs. Lewis has been with the BAMS program for many years and is our expert in all things BAMS. In her free time you can catch her reading by the pool or hanging out with her daughters, Maggie and Betsy, and her Husband, Rick. Mrs. Lewis is also the BAMS BETA sponsor. 

Payton Coogle

Miss Coogle is a Bullitt Central High School Alum and brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to our classrooms. Miss Coogle loves to take road trips, try new recipes and is the yearbook sponsor at BAMS.

Dominic McCamish - Principal

Mr. McCamish is the Principal of Specialized Programs for Bullitt County Public Schools. In this multifaceted role, he oversees several district programs including Bullitt Advanced Math and Science (BAMS) program,  Bullitt Virtual Learning Academy (BVLA), the Career Readiness Center (CRC), Campbellsville University Criminal Justice  (CUCJ) partnership, Bullitt Alternative Center (BAC), Sunrise Spring Meadows Children's Home (SM), and Bullitt Virtual Night School (BVNS).  


In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking, reading, and spending time with his family. 

Valarie Moore - Counselor

Meet Valarie Moore, a dedicated and compassionate high school counselor committed to shaping the educational journeys of students at Riverview Opportunity Center. Valarie brings a wealth of experience and a passion for fostering personal and academic growth in her role as a high school counselor.

With a master's degree in counseling and a genuine interest in the well-being of her students, Valarie serves as the linchpin for six distinct programs within the school. Her multifaceted role includes counseling for various academic and personal development pathways, making her an integral part of the Bullitt County community.

One of Valarie's key responsibilities is overseeing the Bullitt Advanced Math and Science (BAMS) program, where she works closely with students who demonstrate exceptional aptitude and passion for these subjects. Valarie not only guides these budding scientists and mathematicians in their academic pursuits but also provides valuable insights into potential career paths and higher education opportunities.

Valarie's approach is characterized by a blend of empathy and pragmatism. She takes the time to understand each student's unique strengths, challenges, and aspirations, tailoring her guidance to ensure that they are well-equipped for the challenges of both high school and beyond.

In addition to her work with BAMS, Valarie is actively involved in counseling students in various other programs(CRC and BVLA), fostering a holistic approach to student development. Her commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive environment has earned her the respect and admiration of both students and colleagues alike.

Valarie Moore is not just a counselor; she is a mentor, advocate, and supporter, dedicated to helping every student reach their full potential. Through her tireless efforts, she continues to make a lasting impact on the lives of the students she serves, shaping futures and inspiring success at Riverview Opportunity Center.


Mike Paul - Instructional Coach

Mike Paul (mikepaul.com) is an educator and innovative learning coach, holding an Educational Specialist degree in educational leadership, and is a doctoral student at the University of Kentucky. He was on the writing team for the first edition of the Kentucky Academic Standards for Computer Science (2018) and was selected as a Google Certified Innovator in Education in 2016. He maintains a daily blog at mikepaul.com and shares his work and the work of others with thousands across various media channels. He has consulted with districts and teachers across the state of Kentucky and co-founded the Edcamp Kentucky professional development conference. He works as an instructional coach for Bullitt County Public Schools and lives in Louisville, Kentucky.
