Smartphone Classes

Digital literacy is a major issue among the older residents. As of October 2022, we are conducting weekly Smartphone Classes to help bridge the digital gap.

Classes are held every Wednesday (except public holidays) from 10am to 12pm, at MBPJ Balairaya Seksyen 17/1, Jalan 17/1A, Petaling Jaya.

Registration is free and open to all, including those residing outside Bukit Gasing.

Rajiv has also launched an initiative where Bukit Gasing residents who are unable to afford a smartphone can now purchase it at a subsidised price of RM100 each.

The smartphones are generally around the RM300 to RM350 price range per unit and will come with warranties. These devices will be sufficient to use basic functions such as WhatsApp, Facebook and Grab. This initiative is in the hope of helping ease the lives of B40 residents in Bukit Gasing.

Those who want to apply for the subsidy can do so via walk-in to Rajiv's office at Pejabat ADUN Bukit Gasing. Applications will be filtered on a case by case basis, based on income and family background. This subsidy is strictly for Bukit Gasing residents only.
