Keys for Success:

  • Students are responsible for checking for assignments & test info in the Classwork section in Google Classroom to know when assignments are due.

  • Maximizing the use of class time through on-task effort and participation is expected. Behavior should respect others and help cultivate a learning environment for all students.

  • Ask questions and ask for help; we are all learners!

  • Students are responsible to check their grades in HAC on a regular basis.

  • Do your own work. Copying answers, copying info from the other sources, and sharing answers with other students do not reflect academic honesty.

  • Follow VVCM rules and values. Please see handbook for those expectations.

Parents & Students with questions or concerns, please use these steps…

  • Email me at vferretti@buckeyeusd.org. Email is the best way for parents and students to reach me. I check email regularly; I try my best to respond within 24 hours. Parents, if you prefer to speak with me, please email me first to set up a phone call or conference.

  • Students are encouraged to ask me questions before school starts, during class, or after school. Students should not use Google Classroom to reach me.

Grading Scale:

Assignments are on a point system. Classwork & homework assignments will usually be worth 10 points. Quizzes average 5-20 points. Tests and projects will be worth 20-60, depending on the assignment. Trimester grades will be an average of the total points earned during the trimester. Each trimester, the points reset.

Missing/Make Up Work & Assessments:

  • LATE WORK...

    • Most assignments are due at the beginning of the next day (unless directed by the teacher). Due dates and assignments can be found on Google Classroom “Classwork” section - due dates and details are listed on the day they are assigned.

    • Late classwork/homework may receive up to 50% credit if they are turned in up to one week late of the original due date. Late projects may be deducted points TBD by the teacher and will be accepted up to 1 week late.

    • The student will not receive credit for assignments that are turned in after one week past the due date.

    • A blank in HAC means the student did not turn the assignment in yet. A zero in HAC means it is too late to submit the assignment for any points.

    • Quizzes - no retakes on quizzes. If a quiz is missed due to an excused absence, it may be taken up to 1 week late. Students are responsible for scheduling the make-up time with Mrs. Ferretti- please schedule this through email.

    • Retake Tests - If a student scores below a 70%, please email Mrs. Ferretti within one week of when the test is handed back to arrange for retakes. Retake scores will be no higher than 75%.

  • Illness/Excused Absences...assignments, projects, quizzes, and tests can be made up. Please email Mrs. Ferretti to make arrangements within one week of absence. Students will be given the same number of days they were absent to complete and turn in the work they missed. It is the student’s responsibility to check Google Classroom on the days they are absent and then reach out to Mrs. Ferretti for materials handed out in class or quizzes/tests to make up.
