Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood.
Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less. ― Marie Curie
On this site, you will find links to our class syllabus, daily agenda with both class and homework assignments, and the online Amplify curriculum, for BOTH 7th and 8th grades. Please navigate the website using the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
If you have questions, I can be reached best via email at msideris@buckeyeusd.org. I do ask that STUDENTS contact me first before parents, since we encourage students to take responsibility for themselves and their own journey through middle school. I will respond to emails until 3:00 pm each day, and after that, I will respond within 24 hours.
I am a proud Sacramento native and even prouder single mother to three amazing children, ages 19, 17, and 16. Prior to my start in the field of education in 2013, I worked as a scientist at several biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in the SF Bay Area. However, in 2013, I moved back "home" to the Sacramento area and chose to pursue my love of teaching and working with children.
My Educational Background:
B.S. in Genetics, UC Davis
California Multiple Subject Clear Credential
California Specific Subject Matter Authorization in Biological Sciences
AMS Elementary I and Elementary II Montessori Credentials, Montessori Training Center
Certified International Baccalaureate (IB) MYP Science Educator
My Teaching Background:
After teaching 4th grade for two years at Blue Oak Charter Montessori, I moved with the school and taught 5th/6th grade math and science during VVCM's first year in El Dorado Hills. In 2018, I opened up our fabulous new science lab and started the middle school science program here in room B3. Teaching science is my passion, since it is my love and my background, and as many of you know, I am beyond thrilled to be the 7th & 8th grade science teacher here at Valley View Charter Montessori!!!
I love to teach. This is my dream. Each day when I enter a classroom and see the young eyes staring at me from around the room, I know that it is in my hands to make a difference. It is with honor that I hold and view this responsibility. I love both the challenges and the intrinsic rewards of teaching, and I have been thrilled to have made this career change at this point in my life.
