Andrea Szabo
"Andrea (“Dree") was a 2015 graduate from BU after which she stayed in Boston for an additional two years working in a research lab and teaching barre classes. She then moved home to Cleveland, OH for medical school before returning back to the east coast where she is currently in her 2nd year of medical residency in a combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics program at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. You can find her still trying out dance classes throughout Philly. Her favorite memory from BUDT apart from post weekend practice dining hall breakfasts (the crepes!), practicing band ditties (spelling?) right before the game, pre 6AM practice sleepovers with your big (love you Kel!) was when her BUDT wife, Jill Skuza (“Skuz”), surprised her at Nationals in Daytona Beach, FL her senior year. Dree is grateful for all of the friendships she made and work ethic she acquired while on the team. Her post BU life was complicated by a medical condition requiring amputation of her foot (don’t worry, not her turning foot), but she feels like she truly couldn’t have gone through that process without her BUDT family's support."
Nina Maroudas
"I had an amazing four years on the BUDT. After graduating in 2019, I worked in financial consulting for 3 years and then transitioned to finance and corporate development at tech start-up WHOOP. The wearables space has been a rewarding way to combine a passion for athletics and health with business. My favorite BUDT memory is running into the ocean as national champions at 2016 NDA Nationals! The culmination of so much hard work and dedication. Pure joy and pride of accomplishing a huge goal with your teammates was an all-time great feeling."
Aqsa Momin
"Aqsa is from Houston, TX and graduated from BU with a degree in Economics in May 2020. Aqsa was on BUDT for the 2019-2020 season and her favorite memory on the team was performing and cheering at all the basketball games. Aqsa now works as a tech consultant, fitness instructor, and is embarking on her 3rd season as a NFL cheerleader. Go terriers!"
Michaela Main
"After six years at BU, I graduated with my doctorate in physical therapy and BS in athletic training. I currently have a dream job as a physical therapist and clinic director at an outpatient private physical therapy practice Girl Fit Physical Therapy. Our clinic specializes in the female adolescent athlete and I personally specialize in dance medicine. Outside of daily patient care in the clinic I also teach wellness classes in the community and on location to further educate and empower females in strengthening, injury prevention and how to best take care of their own body. I love being able to connect with young dancers and help them have long careers well into and beyond their college years.
I cherish all my memories from being on BUDT, I was one of the few lucky ones who got to sneak in for that fifth year because I just couldn’t stay away. It would be easy to say my best memory was winning a national championship my senior year, but for me the day before will stick with me forever. We had our team dance finals and hip hop prelims all in one day, we danced our hearts out for team danced (and placed second!) and by the time we got to practice before performing hip hop we were just happy to be there. Our coaches even caught us free style dancing for our warm up, so we were just ready to have fun. On stage we let loose and really had the most fun performing we ever had as a team. Being able to wholeheartedly have fun and enjoy that moment on stage with my teammates will forever bring me a warm fondness for my BUDT family."
Emily Masse
"Masse graduated summa cum laude from BU in 2020 with a double major in Cultural Anthropology and Psychology and a double minor in Political Science and French. She was a four year member of the BUDT and Co-Captain during her senior year. Currently, Masse is in her final year at Boston College Law School and will earn her J.D. in May 2024. At BC Law, Masse is a Senior Editor on the Law Review and Co-President of the Public Interest Law Foundation. While pursing her law degree, Masse is also earning her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, which will be awarded in May 2024, from Boston College School of Social Work. Masse loves being a part of the BUDT family and cherishes the lifelong friendships she made during her time on the team. Her favorite memories include winter boot camps and performing on the Bandshell during NDA Nationals. She still gets chills every time she thinks about performing in Team Dance finals at Nationals 2018 because of the incredible energy she felt from her teammates. "
