The Multilingual Learners Alliance (MLA) was formed in 2023 in response to the BPS Inclusive Education Plan that fails to provide multilingual learners with evidence-based language programming. We believe multilingualism is an asset and that all multilingual learners deserve access to language programs that foster the development of home language and English.

The MLA consists of representatives from the Boston Education Justice Alliance (BEJA), BPS Citywide Parent Council (CPC),Boston Teachers Union (BTU), Citizens for Public Schools, Multicultural Education Training and Advocacy (META), St. Stephen’s Youth Programs (SSYP), and former members of the BPS EL Task Force that resigned in protest of the dismantling evidence-based language programs.
