Video Editing & Production I

Course Description:

High school students may take this introductory level, semester-long course for elective credit. Students will begin by learning the basics of using the cameras and other equipment, and then move on to learning techniques for shooting and editing quality videos. Students will utilize Premiere Pro, a professional-grade software program, to edit programs to air on Blair-Taylor’s cable station (881 or 18-81), as well as to post on the school district’s website and/or social media accounts. Students will live stream and/or record events that are happening in the Blair-Taylor School District and communities, but they will also have the opportunity to create original content on a variety of topics. Students are required to devote at least 10 hours (for example, 5 sporting events) to filming/live streaming school events--some of which may be outside of the school day.
