Households with Incoming Freshman
The first week of July, District 201 uploads a list of current students who are Directly Certified (DC) from the state for free or reduced meals. This list should also contain the names of incoming freshman approved for free or reduced meals. Please check with your schools administrator in charge of the Free and Reduced Program to see if your incoming freshman is already on the DC list.

If your student is on the list, you do not need to fill out a form for the upcoming school year. Your students fees will be automatically waived in our system. Fees not waivable: (Including but not limited to) Music Classes, Driver's Ed., Parking Stickers, Club and Athletic fees.
If you need a Payment Plan for fees not waivable, then you will need to fill out a short term loan application(Payment Plan) from the link located below. Please fill in the top contact information, skip Part 1, fill in Part 2, sign and date. During registration, you will turn this application in to your students' school meal service station.
If your student is not on the list, you will then need to fill out an application. Links are located below.
School Meal Service for incoming Freshman
This is an informational letter intended to bring awareness of our school cafeteria procedures for incoming freshman students. Below is a general description of our meal service procedures and payment information.
School Meals
Breakfast: There is only one service lane open during breakfast. Students enter the service lane and choose what they want and circulate through to the cashier.
Lunch: While in the cafeteria, students enter the serving area and choose which serving line they would like.
Salads
Grill (Cheeseburgers, Chicken Sandwiches etc)
Pizza
Nacho Bar
Entrée (A monthly menu is posted on the school website and within the cafeteria)
After obtaining their food, students move to one of the 4 cashier lines. At the cashier station students are to swipe their ID or input their ID number. The cashier collects the money or applies appropriate charges. If students owe money for meal charges, the cashier will inform the student of their amount due before the student leaves the cashier station.
Snack Bar:
The Snack Bar window is located on the North side of the cafeteria.
Students can purchase snacks and drinks from the Snack Bar only if they do not owe any meal charges on their account.
Ways to avoid a negative balance:
-myschoolbucks:The best way to check an account balance is to set up an online account with myschoolbucks (www.myschoolbucks.com). This is an online meal service payment program that our district utilizes. Parents can set up an account and you can prepay for meals, receive notices of a low balance, pay on negative balances, and monitor account transactions daily.
(Please be aware: Our Synergy Parentvue system shows only academic fee balances. It does not show cafeteria meal balances. Myschoolbucks is where you can view and monitor cafeteria meal balances. If you do not want to utilize myschoolbucks for their payment services, you can still set up an account so you have access to monitor your students meal account balance and then make your payments at the school.)
-Email notifications: myschoolbucks is set up to send out email reminders of student negative balances, on a weekly basis. If you are not receiving any emails, please check your junk or spam messages.
-Phone call: Parents can contact the appropriate Food Service Director at your student's school to check account balance.
-Cashier notification: Students are reminded daily of their negative meal balance when they are at the cashier station. Remind your student to communicate with you, any negative balance they may have.
Please keep in mind that meal charges must be cleared by your student’s graduation.
Payment (Cash or Check):
-Students can make payments or put money in their account at the cafeteria cashier stations during their lunch period.
-Parents can contact the appropriate Food Service Director, to also arrange for payments.
