The acronym "STEM" is not new alphabet soup. There is a misconception that "STEM" activities belong in a silo with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math classes. However, the concept of "STEM" activities are those activities that encourage students to complete tasks that are interdisciplinary! As adults, it is rare that we accomplish a tasks using only ONE subject area skill. So why does classroom learning operate this way?
