Jack Gantos has written books for readers of all ages, from picture books and middle-grade fiction to novels for young adults and adults. His works include Hole in My Life, a memoir that won the Michael L. Printz and Robert F. Sibert honors; Joey Pigza Swallowed the Key, a National Book Award Finalist, Joey Pigza Loses Control, a Newbery Honor book, and Dead End in Norvelt, the 2012 Newbery Medal Winner, and the Scott O’Dell Award Winner for Best Historic Fiction.

Jack is able to offer presentations for grade K-12 student audiences. Depending on the age of the audience, his presentations will be tailored to meet the needs of the students. He uses his books to demonstrate the skills he is teaching –
• Primary/Younger students - Picture books & Rotten Ralph
• Upper Elementary/Middle school – Jack Henry Books, Joey Pigza Books & Writing Radar
• High School – The Trouble in Me, & Hole in my Life
The elements, and structure for a story are fairly uniform, but the physical and emotional content becomes more complex with the older age groups.
