Summer Leadership Institute 2025
June 25, July 2, 16, 23, 30 (5:30-8:00PM)
Description:
This introductory series will present the essentials for youth ministry--from understanding today’s young people to implementing best practices in prayer, accompaniment, and culturally sustaining ministry. It will emphasize skill-building and practical application so that learnings can be implemented immediately. The program will be facilitated in English.

5:00 - 8:00 PM (doors open at 5:00 pm for food & fellowship, workshop begins at 5:40 PM)
This training will help the participant:
1) Build supportive relationships with other ministers of local schools and parishes that work with youth.
2) Gain confidence on exercising basic functions of a Youth Minister
3) Gain confidence in contributing to the mission of Youth Ministry
4) Gain confidence in pastorally accompanying young people

This training is being sponsored and offered by BSYC in collaboration with Dominican University, the BSYC Collaborative, and the excellent faculty members who have extensive training in youth ministry.

Step 2: Confirming Application
BSYC will send you an Application Receipt explaining next steps.
Step 3: Letter of Referral
BSYC will send you a blank Letter of Referral to be completed and signed by your institution's ministry coordinator, Director, or Pastor. If you do not have a working relationship with any leader of your institution, but are a member of one of our Collaborative Partners, we will contact them to inform them of your interest in receiving SLI Training representing their institution. This will only be to inform them, but will not be committing you to anything at your institution. However, if you do not belong to any institution but wishes to receive SLI training, you will be asked to have a brief interview with a BSYC Minister.
Step 4: Letter of Acceptance
After Step 3 is completed to BSYC's satisfaction, you will receive a letter of acceptance and instructions for payment
Step 5: Payment of Application Fee
It is a $250 application fee, to be paid before or on the first session in cash or check. Checks should be payable to "Blessed Sacrament Youth Center" Memo: "Summer Leadership Institute." This fee will cover the cost for good dinners, SLI binder, other material, and quality faculty.
*** Scholarship
The first 20 applicants (who are members of the BSYC Collaborative) will receive a $200 scholarship thanks to the support of Dominican University and the Lilly Foundation.
