I will be in your child's classroom once a month for 30 minutes. In these lessons I will be covering topics that pertain to character education i.e. respect, empathy, accepting others, etc. You can check out this site or my newsletter that will go home every month explaining the topic we covered!

SEPTEMBER LESSON

Meet the school counselor, how you can request to see me, why you would see me

Building connections activity - an activity where students identify the hobbies and interest they have and if they were to meet someone with similar interests and hobbies they would feel connected to them. This is a great way to meet other classmates, practice conversing, and learning about one another.

OCTOBER LESSON

Bullying & How to Stand Up to a Bully

In all classes we discussed the difference between bullying, mean moments, and conflict. If a situation does not have all 4 things that make up a bully situation then it is a mean moment or conflict. We then talked about how to handle these situations.

1.  Tell an adult (if we don't know about it, we can't help)

2. Walk away

3. Ignore the bully

4. Stand up for yourself (use your teacher voice and tell them to stop)

5. Remain calm

6. Be kind, don't bully back
