Community Partners

Restorative Response Baltimore is a conflict resolution and community building organization that provides ways for people to collectively and effectively prevent and resolve conflicts and incidents ranging from bullying to auto theft to assault. We strive to assist communities in working together to resolve conflicts by building connections and communicating with one another.

The Baltimore Jewish Council fosters cooperation and understanding within the Jewish community; builds relationships and mutual understanding with ethnic, racial, and religious groups across Maryland; advocates at all levels of government for social justice and public resources on issues of concern to the Jewish community; and through education and action, promotes strong support for Israel and the Jewish people at home and throughout the world.

Planned Parenthood of Maryland (PPM) is a not-for-profit family planning agency that provides high-quality, affordable reproductive health care for women, men and teens. Many of our patients have no other health care available to them.

Herta Baitch

Herta Griffel Baitch was born in Vienna, Austria.  When Germany annexed Austria in 1938, anti-Semitic decrees were extended there.  Her father died in 1939.  In 1940, Herta’s mother sent her to live with a foster family in the US.  She was seven years old when she left, and she remembers her mother telling her that she would have a new mother to take care of her. Herta left with a group of seven other children, sponsored by the German Jewish Children’s Aid Society (a national organization that had a branch in Baltimore).  Of these children, Herta was the only one who was sent to Baltimore.

The Artesanas focus on artist exchanges, workshops, and public events. The program includes professional development training in Spanish for immigrant artists, after-school enrichment programs, as well as public community workshops at family festivals and area schools. We organize bilingual cultural events for all ages including Día de los Muertos and traditional Posadas!
