Rosiland Cauthen joined the Baltimore School for the Arts in 2016 as theatre department head. She came from Center Stage, where she served as the director of community programs and education and worked to develop many youth theatre programs, such as Camp Center Stage, in-school playwrighting residencies, after-school programming, a discussion series, and community partnerships. Cauthen is a graduate of the M.F.A. in Theatre program at Towson University. She has taught theater courses as an adjunct professor at Towson University, where she has also directed for their Mainstage. Before coming to Baltimore, she was a corps member of Teach For America, a national corps of young innovative teachers working in the nation’s underserved schools. Cauthen is also a director and producer, whose work has been featured at the Creative Alliance, Baltimore Theatre Project, the Arena Players, Center Stage, and the Kennedy Center.
Courtney Spears - BSA Alumni Liasion & Director, ArtSea Dance
Courtney Celeste Spears '12 who is of Bahamian descent, is a professional dancer with the world renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. She graduated from The Baltimore School for the Arts in 2012 and graduated Summa Cum Laude with honors from The Ailey/Fordham BFA Program with a degree in dance and Communications/Media studies. While dancing professionally, Ms. Spears has continued her studies, recently completing Harvard Business School's Crossover into Business program for professional athletes and was also nominated for a New York Emmy for her leading role in The Black Iris Project's "A Mother's Rite" within the same year. As a dedicated mentor and entrepreneur, Ms. Spears is the Co-Founder and Director of her own company, ArtSea Dance, which brings world class dance entertainment and education to the caribbean, specifically The Bahamas. Courtney is excited to be back at her alma mater and is eager to bring her artistic and business experience to the BSA development office as the Alumni Liaison.
Dr. Lawrence T. Brown is the proud grandson and son of Mississippi and Arkansas Delta sharecroppers and preachers. He attended and graduated from colleges across the South while earning his bachelor’s (Morehouse College), master’s (University of Houston), and doctorate (University of Tennessee Health Science Center) degrees.

In June 2018, he was honored by OSI Baltimore with the Bold Thinker award for sparking critical discourse regarding Baltimore’s racial segregation. His first book The Black Butterfly: The Harmful Politics of Race and Space in America will be published by Johns Hopkins University Press in January 2021.

Joshua Campbell is a graduate of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia with a focus in playwriting and producing. In Philadelphia and New Jersey he as worked as a teaching artist, playwright, actor, director, dramaturge, and or producer for various organizations including Philadelphia Young Playwrights, Azuka Theater, Wilma Theater, McCarter Theatre, Philadelphia Theatre Company, Flashpoint Theater, Passage Theatre, and the Ira Brind School of Theatre Arts. As a playwright, his works include Surviving the Dream, On the Seventh Day, Liberi Tutti, Mourning in America, Distill, and Your Body Calls Me Home in Midnight. He has received commissions for community engagement / social activism work from Act II Playhouse and the Painted Bride Arts Center. Awards include the 2014 Ira Brind School of Theater Arts Excellence in Playwriting Award and the 2010 Centerstage Young Playwrights Festival Finalist. He was a finalist for the Playwrights Center's 2016 Jerome Fellowship and the Many Voices Fellowship. He was a 2015 BAU Institute Otranto Arts and Culture Literary Fellow.
Born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, Randy has been a Professional Educator of over 20 years. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Norfolk State University and Master’s Degrees from Cambridge College and Regent University. During a professional development in 2014, Randy was introduced to Restorative Practices. He immediately realized the impact Restorative Practices could have on teachers, students, and eliminating the school to prison pipeline. Following his passion of being a practitioner of Restorative Practices, Randy became a certified trainer through the International Institute of Restorative Practices and Restorative Strategies LLC.
Nicoletta de la Brown - Artist, Founder, Vida Magica Love
Nicoletta is a performance artist, interdisciplinary fabricator, producer, speaker, mother of four, filmmaker, self-love champion, and unicorn. She is Black Latinx; proud to be a first-generation Panamanian born in the United States. She is a chamána (shaman) and comes from a long line of healers. Her work reconceives the life of an artist as thriving, nourishing herself and others during and through her creative practice. Nicoletta is adjunct faculty in the MFA in Community Arts Graduate Program at MICA, and former Visual Art Department faculty member at Baltimore School for the Arts. She is the founder of Vida Mágica Love, a creative platform dedicated to healing-centered services. She produces audience participatory engagements through interactive workshops, immersive activations, and multi-sensory experiences.
Nicoletta puts energy into developing works that communicate to others about the beauty of existence. Her work is about light, connection, community, healing, and self-love. She fabricates sculptural installations that are meant to communicate introspection. Her vessel is both her canvas and the instrument she creates with. During her performances, she sculpts space with her body. She is motivated by the idea of the collective oneness; that all is interconnected. Art is not something that she does. Art is how she lives. Who she is. Works of art are handled with care. She loves herself gently, with kindness, and encourages others to do the same through her works of art.

Kenneth Something - Poet
Kenneth Something is an educator, organizer and spoken word artist. He is the 2016 Baltimore Grand Slam Champion, 2016 DC Pride Grand Slam Champion, 2016 Word War Champion and 2016 National Poetry Slam Champion. He is the author of Blood, Bricks and Dandelions and a professor of Spoken Word at Maryland Institute College of Art. He is most known for his incredible courage to be incredibly transparent.
Liz Lerman is a choreographer, performer, writer, teacher, and speaker. She has spent the past four decades making her artistic research personal, funny, intellectually vivid, and up to the minute. A key aspect of her artistry is opening her process to everyone from shipbuilders to physicists, construction workers to ballerinas, resulting in both research and experiences that are participatory, relevant, urgent, and usable by others.
Liz Lerman’s Critical Response Process helps to shape constructive dialogues about works-in-progress. Using a series of steps guided by a facilitator, it affords both the maker and a group of responders a chance to ask questions, share reactions, and voice opinions with the goal of building a stronger work of art. The Process offers artists valuable information and engages professional peers, audiences, and community members in the art-making process. Beyond its application in the arts, the Process contains useful approaches for all kinds of feedback conversations at home and in varied work settings.

Dancer, choreographer and teacher, received his MFA in Dance from Florida State University and a BME in Music from the University of South Carolina. He has danced with Dance Repertory Theatre (FSU), Randy James Dance Works (NY/NJ), EDGEWORKS Dance Theater (DC), and Liz Lerman Dance Exchange (MD).
His choreography has been presented at various national and international venues including DUMBO Festival (NY), Velocity Festival (DC), Modern Moves Festival (DC), Philly Fringe (PA), Edinburgh Fringe Festival (UK-Scotland), Barcelona and Madrid, Spain, Avignon, France, Athens, Greece, Bari, Italy, Copenhagen, Denmark, Nova Scotia, Canada and Taipei, Taiwan.
He received rave reviews for his performance of “Come Change” (2012), “iWitness” (2014) in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland and Everyman Theatre’s Los Otros by Ellen Fitzhugh in Baltimore, MD. Vincent was the Movement Coach / Choreographer for Everyman Theatre’s Brother’s Size by Tarell Alvin McCraney in Baltimore, MD (2012) and Mosaic Theatre’s Unexplored Interior by Jay Sander in Washington, DC (2015). He is the Artistic Director / Choreographer of the national touring What’s Going On project.
He is an Urban Bush Women BOLD Facilitator, faculty member for the UBW Summer Institutes (NY), and Professor of Dance at Towson University (MD).
His multi-dimensional company VTDance builds on the use of contemporary dance, improvisation, text / movement, a variety of sound sources, and collaborations with other artists, including dancers, musicians, poets, visual artists, and others [to be discovered].

Nicole Daniels joined The Learning Network as a staff editor in 2019. She was previously a classroom teacher, museum educator and curriculum writer. She is also currently researching and writing a grades 6-12 curriculum for the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture.
Shazma Cannady-Murray - Systems Analyst, United States Coast Guard
Shazma Cannady-Murray is a systems analyst for the United States Coast Guard and works as an Intensive In-Home Counselor with children and adolescents ages 6 to 17, focusing on self esteem, affirmations, and body image. She received her Masters of Arts from Norfolk State University from Urban Education with concentration in Community Counseling in 2018, and her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Norfolk State University in 2014. Shazma is registered as a Qualified Mental Health Professional with Children (QMHP-C) from the Board of Counseling in Virginia. She is a graduate of the Baltimore School for the Arts, c/o 2009 Theatre Production. Her costume designs for BSA's production of a Midsummer's Night Dream have ben featured and displayed during Expressions.
