Springhill will be recognized at the November 20, 2025 Bryant School Board Meeting @ 6:00pm.
I’m thrilled to share some incredible news—Springhill Elementary has been designated as a Leader in Me Lighthouse Academic Honor Roll School, recognized for success in both Exemplary Academic Growth and Exemplary Academic Proficiency.
Even more remarkable, Springhill is the only school in Arkansas to earn this distinction and one of just eight schools in the entire nation to be recognized at this level!
This achievement speaks volumes about the dedication of Principal Deborah Tazelaar, Assistant Principal Chardae Creggett, the staff, and the students at Springhill. As Bryant’s only Leader in Me school, they are modeling how academic excellence and leadership culture can work together to create extraordinary results.
Congratulations to your team for supporting a school community that continues to shine so brightly—what a powerful reflection of the vision and heart within Bryant School District.
Keep shining,
Amber Moss

This month we’re spotlighting Habit 4 Think Win Win
Understanding the Habit: Having a Win-‐Win Attitude means:
1. Seeing life as a cooperative arena, not a competitive one.
2. Balancing courage for getting what you want with consideration for what others want.
3. Seeking successful, productive interactions by “filling others’ buckets/making deposits on others’ emotional bank accounts”.
In doing this, negative energy focused on understanding and resolving issues. The Win/Win process has four steps:
1. See the problem from the other point of view, in terms of the needs and concerns of the other party.
2. Identify the key issues and concerns (not positions) involved.
3. Determine what results would make a fully acceptable solution.
4. Identify news soptions to achieve thos results
What does it mean to be a Leader in Me School?
Springhill Elementary began our Leader in Me journey in 2015 when we adopted FranklinCovey’s Leader in Me framework, based on Dr. Stephen Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. For us, this is more than just a program—it is a whole-school transformation model that helps students, staff, and families learn and apply essential leadership and life skills.
At Springhill, we believe every child is a leader. Being a Leader in Me school empowers our students to take ownership of their learning, develop lifelong leadership habits, and make a positive difference in their school and community. It’s about creating confident leaders, not just learners.
In November 2019, we were proud to be named a Leader in Me Lighthouse School, a distinction earned by only a select number of schools worldwide. The Lighthouse designation is a prestigious honor recognizing schools that demonstrate exceptional growth in student leadership, academic achievement, and school culture. This achievement confirmed what we already knew—Springhill shines brightly as a model of how leadership and learning go hand in hand. We are deeply grateful to our staff, students, families, and community for making this recognition possible. Together, we are lighting the way for others.
Now, we look forward to the next step in our adventure: becoming a Leader in Me Legacy School. A Legacy School not only achieves Lighthouse status but sustains it over time with excellence, consistency, and proven results. It represents the highest honor in the Leader in Me framework. Reaching this milestone will show that leadership is not just something we teach at Springhill—it is the very heart of who we are.
