This laboratory course is designed to encourage both an individual and group discovery process. Students are expected to demonstrate initiative in collecting and analyzing data,answering focus questions, and forumulating well-designed laboratory reports. Experiments and observations will encompass a broad array of ecological topics, including photosynthesis, respiration, food webs, chemical analyses, plant growth, toxicity effects, as well as assessments of riverine, aquatic, salt marsh and wetland ecosystems.

Integrate concepts & case studies from multiple information sources
Learn and use technical equipment and specialized software
Conduct independent study projects (team-based)
