Mr. Jason Luthy - Director
The beginning of the school year has been busy and exciting for the Bands at Bryan City Schools. BHS Marching Band has already performed at three football games and the Williams County Fair Band Show. We are excited to be performing every Friday night this Fall.
Our season will wrap up with the annual Sounds of the Stadium Concert on Sunday, October 27, where we will take you through the whole season of exciting performances.
September 4 was another great day for the BCS as thirty fifth graders took their first steps in learning their instruments. We are excited to see where they will go in the future.
As we look forward to the remainder of the year, the BHS Band has been busy preparing for and fundraising for our trip to Philadelphia in March for the St. Patrick's Day Parade.
If you haven't had a chance to get a Band Card yet, this is our largest fundraiser of the year and will help to bring down the cost of the trip for students (and earn you some great deals around Bryan). Band Cards are available from your favorite Band student, the BHS Concession Stand, and Jumpin Beanz.
6th grade art concentrates on the basics of art, but also the connections that can be made between art and other subjects and their own lives. Students work collaboratively at times to learn to work together better and appreciate unique perspectives.
7th and 8th graders choose the type of art class they want to take. We have a variety of courses that focus on art techniques, art in today’s world and just the basics. One class made appreciation note cards in the style of the artist Mondrian that were delivered to the adults that have made an impact on their education. Another class read a story about finding your strengths and made exclamation paintings.
