The State of Ohio recently passed a new State Law that dictates the age eligibility requirement to enroll in Kindergarten.
The State of Ohio recently passed HB114, requiring that children must be 5 years old by the first day of their district's school year to enroll in kindergarten. This new law goes into effect for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.
The first day of school at Bryan City Schools for the 2026-27 school year is Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
Kindergarten enrollment at BCS opened on March 2, 2026. More information for enrollment processes will be communicated with all families as we approach that date.
These changes are State Law, and were set by the State of Ohio. With that, we appreciate your understanding and partnership as we plan for these changes and remain compliant to state law.
