Doors for this event will open at 5:00 PM for the 6-12 building. At this time, families and students may pay fees, get schedules and move through the building to find their locker and classrooms. TEACHERS WILL NOT BE IN CLASSROOMS UNTIL 6:00 PM. From 6:00-7:30 PM, students and parents have the opportunity to meet and greet their teachers in classrooms, continue to find lockers, and tour the building.
Please note: NO TRANSPORTATION REQUESTS WILL BE TAKEN AT OPEN HOUSE.
Picture Day is early in the year so students can get their student ID’s for athletic events and dances. The ordering of pictures is done online. Parents will receive an email from Jostens with a picture proof and ordering instructions. We will send out a variety of reminders to parents. Students should NOT WEAR GREEN on picture day.

The High School Office doors are open from 6:45-7:00 AM for students taking an Early Bird class in the 6-12 building. Students are to check in with the office staff and then proceed to class. The only exception to this is those taking Weights and Conditioning. This class meets at the field house and students should enter through the weight room doors. Students who drive may park in the student parking areas, but still need to enter through the HS entrance. Students being dropped off should enter through the High School side of the main office.
All doors open at 7:40 AM. Upon arriving, all students should go to their lockers and then to the classrooms. Students wanting breakfast should report to the cafeteria.
Buses – Students riding the bus to school are dropped off in the parking lot on the west side of the building. Buses will not release students until 7:40 AM.
Walkers/Parent Drop Off – At 7:40 AM, students may enter the building. Vehicles must follow the one-way path (noted on the map) when dropping off students. Students being dropped off may enter the closest main entrance to the building. No vehicles may enter any parking lot to drop off students.
Student Drivers – Students driving to school must obtain a parking permit. Parking is available for students in the main parking lot, the Field House lot, and the South side of the Event Parking lot.
Buses – Students riding buses will exit the building on the West side, utilizing the Athletics lobby doors. All buses will be located in the West lot. No vehicles may enter this lot.
Student Pick-up – Any student being picked up will walk to their vehicle located within the one-way drop off/pick-up zone in the front of the building. The traffic flow will be identical to the morning arrival, requiring all vehicles to follow the one-way traffic pattern. The parking lots are NOT a student pick-up location. This is for the safety of all students and drivers.
Student Drivers – Please be cautious as you exit the campus. Please be advised, there is no access to Barrister Road.
Upon our return to school, the following campus parking plan will still be in effect:
The EAST STUDENT PARKING LOT on the east side of the high school WILL BE CLOSED TO STUDENTS for safety purposes.
NO STUDENT DROP OFF or PICKUP should occur in this lot or the main road. All student drop-offs should use the main drop-off line at the front of the building.
STUDENTS who typically park in the East Lot (near the Arts Entrance) will be asked to find a parking spot in one of the following areas (highlighted in Light Blue on the map below):
the south Fountain Grove Drive Lot
the west Events Lot; or

Designated staff will be requested to park in the east lot to allow for parking availability in the designated student lots.

Bryan City Schools has officially transitioned to ParentSquare as our primary platform for all school-to-home communication. ParentSquare will replace all communication tools currently being used, and will be the single place for all school communication this school year. This includes school delays and cancellations, classroom communication, athletic updates, special events, classroom sign ups and more.
ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their information that is currently in PowerSchool. We encourage parents to download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.
Here’s what you can do with ParentSquare:
Receive messages from the school via email, text or app notification
Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once with a daily digest at 6pm
Communicate in your preferred language
Direct message teachers, staff and other parents
Sign forms & permission slips, receive report cards, sign up to volunteer and more.
All current parent/guardian contacts have received a ParentSquare invitation via email. Please review the information to set up your account.
Note that Bryan City Schools has eliminated Facebook Messenger as a district communication tool as of June 30, 2025. Please use the messaging feature of ParentSquare as a replacement.
Our school website and social media pages are used as a way to help keep you informed of important dates or events that are happening at each school campus. Please like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.

Regular Student Attendance is a significant parent responsibility. Many studies correlate regular attendance with success in school. If a student will be absent, the parents must notify the school office by 8:30 am and provide an explanation. Your child’s education is important to us, so please make sure your child attends school regularly and is not tardy.
Breakfast and hot lunches will be served daily beginning on Wednesday, August 13th and will again be free to all students. Money can be added to your child’s account in case they wish to purchase extra milk or will need milk on days when they pack. Money can be added to lunch accounts through the parent portal or by sending money in with your child.
To assist with the process of bringing a check to school for your child’s lunch account, we ask that you send it in an envelope with your child’s first and last name, the amount enclosed and their Student ID# clearly marked on the outside of the envelope. Please help your child memorize their Student ID# as soon as possible as it will help them during the breakfast/lunch process.
When any non-school person needs to visit the Bryan Middle/High School campus during the school day, they should be aware of the following process. First, parking for all visitors is located in our south parking lot off Fountain Grove Drive. If you are here to visit the Middle School, you will enter the southwest doors, marked Bryan Middle School. If you are here to visit the High School, you will enter the southeast doors, marked Bryan High School. You will be “buzzed” in by the office staff and only able to enter the building by entering the office area first to identify yourself, stating the reason for your visit, and additionally acquiring a visitor badge to be worn at all times when in the building itself. For the safety of our students, please be aware that our staff may ask for photo identification of visitors.
Our School Resource Officers are a vital part of the BCS campus and an important part of our buildings. Their presence is another safety net for our students to help ensure their well-being as they learn each day. Make sure to say hi to them when you see them.
If a student wishes to have their locker locked, they may bring in their own personal lock to place on the locker. It will be the student’s responsibility to remember their locker code should they choose to place a lock on their locker.
Students in grades 6-12 are permitted to carry book bags. Students carrying bags of an excessive size or number will be directed to leave items in their lockers. Teachers may have bookbag-specific items for their students.
Student cell phones, per State Law, are NOT to be out or used during instructional time. Teachers may request for student cell phones to be placed in a specific classroom location to help avoid potential distractions.
Student cell phones also may NOT be used during AM or PM school transportation on school buses at the request of the driver.
Per State lawmakers, at times, cell phones may be used for instructional activity at the request of the teacher or to monitor or address a health concern if the student has a written statement from their physician.
With this State Law, if a parent/guardian needs to reach their student during the school day, we ask for parents/guardians to reach out to the school building's main office.
The BCS dress code is located in the Student Handbook in the Code of Conduct section. Students are not permitted to bring blankets to school. They may not wear hats, unless it is a theme day requiring hats. Students may wear hoodies to school, but must keep the hood down during the school day.
As a helpful reminder, the questions below should be considered as one prepares for school each day, with the appropriate answer in parentheses.
Does my clothing expose too much (undergarment/skin)? (No)
Does my clothing advertise something that is prohibited to minors? (No)
Are there obscene, profane, drug-related, gang-related, or inflammatory messages on my clothing? (No)
Am I dressed appropriately for the weather? (Yes)
Do I feel comfortable with my appearance? (Yes)
Does my outfit impact my safety or the safety of those around me? (No)
Remember as you dress each day that our facility is climate-controlled and dressing for comfort in terms of temperature is going to mean something much different for many of us.
